I don’t want to talk about everything today because some things aren’t worth sharing in public. But I still want to point out my mistakes.
Digital Art
I’m not a digital artist, so I can’t tell if they’re doing things right or wrong in digital art. We have many digital artists in our hive community and they can monitor posts and keep them in check by downvoting or reporting to me or others.
Tags
I found out some users are trying to misuse #creative-sunday rules. HL will handle it based on what we know. I’ll suggest stricter rules for this tag. Even #hl-exclusive has strict rules, but abuse can still happen. If you see something wrong in any tag, tell me or HiveLearners in these tags.
Onboarding System
The onboarding system in HivePakistan got weaker. If a verified person brought you in, it was easy to get verified. This caused lots of accounts to pop up. We had strict rules before, but we got soft over time. We’ll try to add rewards to encourage good onboarding. Those who bring in abusers won’t get away with it, and those who do good onboarding can get something. I’m not sure when the reward part will be ready, but I’ll start working on it slowly.
Profile Pictures
When I was told users can’t use Bill Gates or Trump pictures as profile pics, I got mad and defensive. To me, it felt against Pakistani culture, so I reacted (some Pakistani girls don't show even the picture of their nails but still use celebrity pictures. In our part of the world, using tik tok stars or model images is normal. We see it as supporting someone or admiring someone). Now, the profile picture issue is a big mess. I’m not a lawyer, and I don’t want to argue about what’s allowed or not. For my profile pic, I’m not breaking any international laws, and that’s enough for me. If someone wants another person to change their profile pic, talk to them yourself. I can’t explain why identity deception in profile pics is bad because I don’t fully understand it. In the future, I’ll warn people about profile pic issues if they ask, but I can’t be everywhere. I won’t comment on-chain to tell people to change their pics. It’s their choice, and they’ll face any problems.
I will still try to make announcement or anything I can with fair but not overworking efforts to raise awareness about this issue. So Pakistani user can be aware of this Profile Picture potential risk.
I thought about what if someone from my family wants to join hive. They’d probably use a random actor’s picture. When Pakistani community members (abusers or not) contacted me, I understood their side more because I’m from the same culture where this is common.
I Messed Up
Looking at everything, I messed up. I can’t be everywhere or know what’s in people’s hearts. What I did was based on what I thought was right but I failed in many ways.
Be patient, it may be necessary for you to take time to stop, breathe and do something else for a few days. A good idea is to get out of your comfort zone, clear your Hive mind for a while and that will give you different vision of things.
Regarding the digital artists, I can tell you that as an artist, one learns to recognize when someone is talented by the techniques he uses, that shows, there is a language, an expression, a statement in each piece, is difficult to explain but it is a skill that only those who have been making art in any of their forms (music, writing, poetry, painting, sculpture, etc.) we know how to recognize.
Everything is a process, it is patient, and I hope you manage to overcome all this concern soon.

I want to know if the tag can be used for a contest? I mean, can I use the tag when I publish a post in the Hive Learners community? I wanted to ask the question long ago but I forgot to ask every time.
In case of profile picture, I think it's hard for us to tell others to change it because we can't force or control what they will use as a profile picture.
We have two tags for weekly contest.
Hl-exclusive, HL-weekNUM for 3 weekly prompts. Then we have creative-sunday with anything that can be considered as creative.
Qasim letting people enter and explore blogging world is not a failure. The problem lies in misunderstanding specific culture. Making accusations without understanding culture is wrong. Regarding digital art,it’s the like other arts . If it is justbthe tracing if already existing images,it must be spammed but if someone us creating it by themselves how it can be wrong

I’m not sure how digital art is created in that app or what tools are used to draw it. If I understood the process, I’d try converting my artwork into digital art as well. Honestly, after looking at the posts, it seems like a lot of hard work.
I said if in the name of digital art users are only doing tracing of people’s arts of already existing images then it absolutely lies in category of spamming. But if they are creating their own images,I don’t find any fault in it
If someone doesn't use the tag properly then obviously the community moderator will check the activity just like you monitor when someone uses the tag #hivePakistan.....
I aware of it that copy someone's writing, picture was like a crime on hive because you can't copy and get monetized until you mentioned the source but in the case of copy profile picture I heard it for the first time that we can't use the profile picture of someone else..... Here I'm lucky that I used my personal profile picture which was gifted to me by my friend once 😁
Personally..... Onboarding someone is really a difficult task because hive is like a sea where we can only dive but don't know the depth of it..... I'm a two year old user and I can't onboard anyone..... I can't teach anyone.... I invited my sister to hive but I told her about discord where she can ask questions and find solution of her problem on her own because sometimes I also don't know what's she talking about..... Maybe I'm not good in onboarding.....
You don't worry and let it happen what's going on..... Because if someone do anything wrong then he/she responsibile of it not you...... I know you are worrying about reputation of Pakistan on hive but we can only make better of ourselves..... It's hard to stop the crimes but yes we can stop the increasing ratio......

You support and guide write with clean heart and good intentions. I remembered well when I was guided by use to not use anyone else picture for profile as well in introductory post. I have seen you making efforts everyday to contribute in blockchain in positive way.
You don't know the intentions of writers, that's why their mistake shouldn't be counted as your failures. It's not your fault that some people used your good intentions while earning trust and kept doing abuse which you had no skills to detect.
I'm aware of the recent issue and I don't saw it as your mistake. You're not digital artist so how we can expect from you to detect something fishy. Here I raised a question what the other curators and moderators? Why didn't the warned those earlier.
Someone's mistake doesn't make you wrong the leading man. I'm with you brother not because I am baised but I know the truth.
Stay strong and be yourself brother. You're not responsible for everyone's mistakes.
You are a person with a pure heart, and you are helping others because when I came to this platform, I was looking for a person who could provide me with complete guidance regarding the platform. I contacted many people but I did not get any response from anywhere. As soon as you saw my message, you guided me. I think you are one of the few people who help people. As far as the issue is concerned, I do not think you are doing anything wrong. When you start trusting others, people take advantage of your trust. The first number should not be trusted too quickly. And even if you trust, it is important to research it first so that you do not have to regret it later. Focus on your work because you are doing a good job. This platform needs hardworking and guiding members like you.
I don't think someone who's always concerned about others can ever be considered as a failure. You're good in your own ways and no one can be perfect so you have not failed as everyone would shoulder the consequences of their actions not necessarily by you.
You mentioned the part of using hashtags. Are there rules attached to using hashtags most especially the ones you mentioned. So I don't get to break any rules

Hey! it's okay to make mistakes sometimes at least we learn from that and we don't want to repeat those unthinking decision. But somehow I agree what response you made but feels like 'I'm doing the right thing but why its on me, blaming?!". Don't overuse your power about it, it made you overthink too much. Yea you follow the norms but we can't guarantee all of the other obstacle or issue so what you gonna do 1st is rethink twice or thrice then balance it as your obligation and as representator. Hope you not thinking too much. AJA! Life's goes on.
Most people won’t give accounts using Celebrity photo as profile pic a second look. They’ll assume it’s a spam account. That’s just the truth. True or not true , people are used to most those accounts being spam accounts and they will likely move on without even looking. I’d tell ur followers to avoid it. They can make a cartoon original image instead or something. It’s for their own good.
