I joined Hive in mid-July 2021, I have known the platform for quite some time but I hesitated to sign up because I was engaging on another platform and I felt it won't be easy combining two platforms.
The platform I was engaging on crashed and I lost interest in blogging because it doesn't make sense to me why I will dedicate so much time to a platform and it would one day just vanish. My money, my content, and my friends will just disappear in the twinkle of an eye, I didn't invest my time and other resources for that.
I was re-invited here and I joined Hive after two weeks of contemplating whether to do so or not. I got a warm welcome on my introduction post and it inspired me. I felt that Hive was the perfect place for me until the tips stopped coming on the third day, I tried pushing for a few more days and eventually gave up on the platform.
I said to myself, "the stress and struggle are not worth it".
Put yourself in my shoes, why would you put effort into content and it wouldn't get any form of interaction from other members of the platform?
I decided to quit Hive, it would be better not to write than to do it without any form of feedback.
A few months passed and I kept
seeing posts shared on Twitter by my friends, and clicking on any takes me to Hive. They are having good engagement on their content so I decided to look deeply into the platform and guess what I discovered.
Just like there is no shortcut to success in life, there is no back door to getting quality engagement on Hive.
I thought about it carefully, how do you intend to get engagement when you are not engaging with others?
I eventually came back but with a new orientation which is engaging more with other members on the platform. I went on interacting and it took time before I could build relationships with other members who started coming to support me with comments and tips.
@Olawalium advised me to start engaging with communities on the platform so I can meet more people with genuine engagement and I took his advice up. Along the line, I discovered that the platform is full of life and beautiful people who are always ready to interact with you.
Engaging with those communities made things easier for me, they took my love for the platform to the next level.
What you are about to read now is a top-class secret.
Engaging with communities gave me the best experience on Hive, it got to a point that I do not struggle to get topics to write about.
Lots of communities do challenges, contests, and prompts so I just pick one or two for a day. It is as easy as just writing and interacting for me, I don't have to struggle with topics and it would interest you to know that I haven't hit writer's block since I started engaging in several communities. The only time I do not engage are days when I am very busy on the farm or days when I choose to be lazy.
Let me give you a breakdown of my engagement with communities on Hive.
I make four posts in #Hivelearners community every week. The community is a great one that supports growth and interaction, you just need to be a verified member before you start participating in their contests.
I engage in
- #Inkwell
- #Hivenaija
- #Campusgistars
- #WritingClub
- #Sportstalk
- #ThreeTunesTuesday
- #Weekend-engagement
- #DIY
- #ComedyOpenMic
- #Music
- #ScholarandScribe
- #Photography
and many others.
Tell me why I wouldn't have something to write about or people to interact with after engaging in all these communities.
The past few months have been fantastic, I have made new friends who have had a great impact on my blogging experience. @Dreemport is not left out, the platform gave me a good connection to other communities I didn't even know existed and the best part of it was that I got to know about the #Ecency front-end which has made blogging on Hive extra and super fun for me.
The benefit of the blockchain is surplus and it is left for you to decide why you want to be a member of the platform. I choose to learn and grow my writing skill, I choose to earn a lot and share as well with other members of the platform by giving good articles to my readers and good upvotes to their quality work as well.
Hive is a world with people in it, you just have to obey rules and give quality engagement as much as you can.
I will like to use the post to mark my first anniversary on Hive since I didn't write about it then and I am sending a big shout-out to one of our friends @hopestylist who is celebrating her birthday today, I pray you to live long to celebrate more of these days in good health, wealth and happiness.

It was same for me.. I'm glad you're enjoying it now.. The welcome was great and the rest was $0.01 or more but not up to a dollar..
I'm not the type to give up without much work so I did the best and I'm enjoying the platform now. It hasn't been easy. @princessbusayo too has been a great help with all the information she provide on our whatsapp platform. Including @mr.English they are all great help.. With them hive became easy for me
Giving up is really not an option who really wants success, I am glad we got people to support and we stood strong against the temptation to leave.
Thats why you should never give up no matter what
We should keep grinding no matter what, the sky is our starting point.
Your growth here is remarkable brother and I am happy to see how great you are doing bro. Cheers to more years of success.
Thanks for everything you are doing sir, I am gently following those marks you left and they are very helpful.
You are an amazing person...willing to always learn and you are doing remarkably great.
glad you are sticking around!

That was the best decision I made so far with my blogging career.
I've learned about a few communities whom I may want to interact with. Thank you so much.
Those are indeed fantastic communities, you will enjoy engaging on them. I am glad you got something from the post.
At first start, it seems as if it is difficult. Same thought with me then as I only focused more on Readcash until I was determined to make known here too. It hasn't been easy but with engagement and staying active, I became addicted to Hive.
It's all about moving to your community's niche and engaging with people. You will surely see them coming over and from there, it continues that way.
I am loving Hive already and thank God for the support so far.
Hive is a great place and only people who are patient enough realize the beauty of the platform, no journey starts easy in life and we must be ready to take the challenge if we are willing to grow on any platform.
Indeed engagement is just the best way to grow in any place and Hive is not different from that, ENGAGEMENT is just the best way to grow here on Hive and I'm so glad @olawalium 🥰 advised you and you accepted the advice, that's I got myself a Buddy 😊.
Thank you so much for creating a space for me in your blog, I'm so honored. And damn!! I love that despite on the cake 🥰, thank you so much Buddy 🤗🤗.

You are welcome, you are special and deserve more. I hope you enjoy your day very well, still expecting my share of the cake...
Thank you so much buddy, that's really so sweet of you to say.
Well I can't say I didn't enjoy my day but I didn't celebrate it at all.
Why? I think I saw a post about going for a photo shoot, what happened after?
I didn't say I will be going for a photo shoot oo, lol.
Ha, I have eventually read something from my mind. 🤣
Hehehe, yeah 😂 but it's understandable sha because my title must have made you thought that.
Hey @george-dee. Thanks for sharing your experience with the community and I'm glad you decided to come back. Hive is a complex place, it's not like the other web2 platforms. You need to learn on Hive, in order to like it, but as you say, it worth it.
For this type of topics I'd like to suggest Loving Hive community in the future. OCD is for topics that don't fit in any other community and should be used when you don't find a niche community for your post.
We have different communities on Hive and we're encouraging users to post in the right community based on the topic of the post.
Here's a guide I put together to help you learn about how communities work and why you should use them -> Communities Explained - Newbie Guide.
Once you posted your post in the right community, you can then cross post it to OCD community. Here's a guide about cross posting.
Please don't delete any post with the purpose of reposting it in another community as that can be considered abuse! Leave this post here, you'll get it right next time.
Thanks a lot for the guide, I better learn more about cross posting and knowing other communities because there are times I don't even know a particular community exists.
I will be more careful next time.
