Guess what happened today? I eventually got dressed.

Started the day with a numb arm.

I had fell asleep on the settee in an awkward position so all my body fat was crushing just one arm.

As the pins and needles started kicking in, i stood up and opened the curtains to let the nice bright grey cloud day light in.
I had three coffees and a couple of splyffs before i really did anything else.

A parcel was arriving within three hours

so I thought i'd wait to get dressed, for fun.
But i still got some pyjarma chores done. Did a load of laundry. It was the towels day today. They're the only material things I will put in the bumble dryer and not hang out in the sun, even on the hottests of days. Purely because they turn crispy. I used to keep buying new towels. Wondering when life got so cripsy. Forgetting where I used to live had an all in one washer dryer machine, so I never even thought about cripsy material back then. It's wonderful not having to buy towels so frequently!

Watched some footage of a man being tasered and kicked in the head

by Manchester police at an airport. His condition has got worse. The police kicker been suspended. Such a nob head world some times. People losing their minds and their control.
Sighed, and put a Simpsons on instead. It was the one where Homer thinks Bart has been turned into a cardboard box.

Still not dressed for the day.

I had an urge to tidy the art table. It should be an art table, and has arty things loitering around on top. Things like a jar full of different size paint brushes, two trays of acrylic paints, sea shells, black beads, some elastic string stuff, glue... but it also has a printer, lots of paper and old letters and basically crud mixed into the artness. So i sorted it all today. It is officially an art table. Which is great because then my parcel arrived and it's a cool scratchy art thing. Somrthing easy to do when I'm watching TV and dont want to think about much.

I also did a hoover

around the kitchen and living room. fluffed the settee and rejigged some pillows to try and trick myself into believing the settee can feel comfy. (It's just awful and bony and low and diggy and hard foam making bricks seem soft.)
But i put a duvet over it, then a fluffy throw, then found two soft yellow pillows and replaced two hard grey ones. Then sighed again and took myself upstairs for a bubbled bath.

There was a spider in the bath,

67% of the time this is the case. This guy was just a thumb nail size, and quite thin see throughy, So i used a toilet roll tube and scooped him up, out and into a spider plant nearby. He was gone by the end of my bath. Wish I could attach mini cameras to all those I rescue, just to see how they're getting on.

I finally got dressed

after my bath, but left my hairs wet, figured they can dry in the warm cloud day air as all the doors and windows were wide open. Fresh.

After that, everything else was done in normal day time clothes. Doesn't seem interesting really, does it.

Sort:

What a day! It's amazing how a mix of mundane chores and unexpected moments can make for such an interesting read. From dealing with numb arms and crispy towels to sorting out your art table, it sounds like you got a lot done! The bit about transforming your settee made me chuckle—sometimes it takes a lot of creativity to make uncomfortable furniture bearable. Hope the rest of your day was just as productive and interesting! 😬🫖
