RE: A look at OCD's onboarding program

in OCD2 months ago

Onboarding is pretty difficult, but retention is even more difficult. In my view, some onboarders don't mentor their onboardees well enough, and most onboardees are too short sighted to take a long term view of Hive.

The stats above are very interesting, and a lot more can be inferred from it. Despite the decent number of comments they make, their network is very small as can be seen from their follower/following numbers, they average below 30. Their curation reward is just a very small fraction of their author rewards. For a 3k-4k account if you were to curate effectively, you should earn more curation rewards than that.

As you probably know, the whole onboarding thing on Hives frustrates me a lot, especially when people come with the wrong mindset, and we're a constant revolving door for them.

Sadly I don't see it improving easily, though I'd rather onboard 2000 people and find 15% good users rather than mass onboarding and have to fish out a handful from the ocean
