I Welcome Myself to Hive: Introduceyourself

in OCDlast year

Hello Hivers. I want to say a big thanks for the opportunity given to me and my family to explore this platform, contribute, learn and generally shared and recieve knowledge. This privillege wont' be abused. My username is @onyirichicarton. I came to know about this platform after i opened a @blocktrades exchange account for my cryptocurrency long and short term investment. After the creation of the exchange account, i was opportuned to create this #Hive account, now, for me to explore this platform i read some instructions and directions of publications made by @pitboy on best 10 tips for Hive newbies.

My name is Egwu Ijeoma Oyirichi. My favourite people call me Oyii. Loved by God, saved by Jesus. I'm from the eastern part of Nigeria, people from this part are called the Ibos. My parents had agreed they were done having kids when they had me; the last of five children (2 boys and 3 girls). I'm currently a single mom of a cute little man. I'm a trained teacher, I enjoy teaching and I love education generally.

I love reading and writing. My favorite food is our native Orah soup and Eba (swallow). I'm a reserved and quiet person, you could call me an introvert. I gravitate toward simple and truthful people.I have a girlfriend and a boyfriend, wondering why so? Well, it's because I choose my friends, they don't choose me.

Exercise is not my thing, for me it feels like a punishment. Some time during my university (highschool) days, i decided to try exercising, the first day was strianous, the next day was worse, moving around felt unbearably painful; they say "no pain no gain" right? for that i continued, i wanted to be sure how this thing works, i was curious to see what will happen to my body. Days turned to weeks, weeks to months, i started losing weight and i achieved my desired shape. I started rocking my banging body, i felt proud and accomplished, while rocking my new look, i slowly i stopped the early morning walk/Jog/run. Weeks later i started adding some flesh, my clothes started getting tighter and uncomfortable. what?! unbelievable i thought this new look was permanent. Exercising/working out should indeed be a lifestyle, that's what i heard, that's what i read, that's what i experienced, that is what it is! I lost my new banging look and i missed it.

I wasn't going to forget to add that I'm also a great cook. lemme share this short story about me and the first time i cooked. As the last child of my family, my only house chore was to wash dishes, my family members seemed so intentionally about getting plates dirty with food or snacks, at least, so i thought. These folks will get me washing dishes at least thrice a day. For this reason decided to move in with my grandma during my first year in college. I actually thought that would be my escape route; for where? I literally started doing all the house chore at my granny's, except cooking, i wasn't as pissed with doing dishes the way i was with fetching water from the village stream to my grandnny;s, that was a nightmare for me, my worst chore. OH my goodness! i hate putting heavy stuffs on my head, it aches a lot! but i felt obligated, it was just me, my grandma and grandpa. At my granny's house chore were getting a bit uncomfortable to me, but couldn't do nothing, definitely not moving back home, my siblings would make fun of me and my situation, because i actually announced that the reason i was moving to my grandma's was to run from my washing dishes.

One day, my grandma decided it was time for me to step up my game. She was diabetic and avoided eating rice like a plaque, that very early morning she called me "ogbom"( my namesake) i answered, she motioned for me to sit beside her, and the following conversation ensued between us...
Grandma----- do you know how to cook?
Me------------- no grandma
Grandma----- you'll cook rice and stew today for you and your grandpa
Me-------------- but i just told you that i can't can't cook
Grandma----- there's always a first time, however you cook it, so you and your grandpa will eat it.

As she walked out of the house, questions began to pop up in my head, why is she leaving earlier today? who is going to help me? I felt that the least she could do was help. I felt challenged because my grandpa was going to eat this same food, so i decided that even though i know little or nothing about cooking, i was going to do my best so grandma and grandpa would be proud of me and send the goodnews home. I got to it, few minutes later food was ready ,i dished for myself and my grandpa, he started eating and i sat on a bed opposite him and was keenly observing him, i noticed that his countenace was plain, i coudnt make anything out of it. Now, if it was just me and my grandpa it would have been what i call family embarrasement but my neighbour's son walked in just when i was about to scoop a spoon of rice into my mouth; he was just a two year old. I drop my plate of food, waliked into the kitchen and resurfaced with a little plate of rice and a piece of beef for him, he collected the plate of food from me and walked across to his house. Moments later grandpa was done eating and i noticed that half of the food was untouched, even the two piece of beef in his food. At that moment i couldn't understand why, but i was about to find out moments later. By the time i finished my own food and reached for the meat, took a bite, what! but i cooked the meat i thought out loud, why is it so strong? i muttered, again i took it as a challenge to eat the almost uncooked beef, but i couldn't, it was very hard. Someone may ask why i was trying so hard to eat the beef; well, my grandpa was aged and i just wanted to prove that he couldnt eat his's because of his weak teeth. ooooops!

That evening my neigbour brought her son, the little boy i gave a plate of food earlier, he was crying. His mother gently dragged him along behind her with a piece of meat in his hand, i questioned her to verify what the problem was. She reported that the meat her boy was holding was exactly the meat in the plate of food i gave him, so she went ahead and explained that she wanted to give the little boy an evening bath, in the process of removing his cloths the he reached into his pocket and took the piece of meat, she asked him to drop the meat since he has fruitlessly been trying to eat it all day. The boy refused and started crying, Okay, this is it, the public embarrasement. I ask the little boy to throw away the meat since it's too hard for him to chew. he simply replied that he wanted to save the meat in his pocket and eat it tomorrow. At this moment, my grandma walked in, hell no! i won't let her hear this. But before i could say Jack, my neighbour was already sharing the story and i felt so embarrassed...

Seven suggestions to consider:

  1. Guard your passwords carefully, and only publish with the posting key,
  2. Use your active key only for wallet transactions, Keychain, Peaklock, and Hivesigner,
  3. The master password and the owner key are only used to reset compromised passwords,
  4. DO NOT lose your password or keys; copy and store offline,
  5. Do not publish other people's work, be it photos or written, without credit, and be sure to source all of your work, even if it is your own.
  6. An introduceyourself tag is used only once , and
  7. DO NOT OPEN any links in memos or comments that you do not know who they belong to. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is, so the old saying goes. There is nothing free here.

I found you because @brittandjosie and @jamerussell from @heyhaveyamet presented and promoted your publication to get more exposure and help you grow faster.
