Hail to the Hive!

We are back in the City of Leicester moored up right in the city centre and for 7 months have been repeatedly told by boaters not to moor here. We are now suspecting that this is mostly due to second hand information as we have found it to be an excellent and very convenient place to moor up. Waterfront City Centre Life! It's great ( not so much the weather though this time ).

So I decided to address some of these issues in this weeks vlog and explain why and how we feel abut it.

Boatlife is a very different way to live and presents its own unique challenges such as water and waste disposal but some of these can easily be done here at the moorings also.

I hope you enjoy watching the vlog and get an idea of what Narrowboat life in the Centre of Leicester is about!

Boatlife is a very different way to live

I am planning to buy a sailboat in the near future. My plan is to live on a sailboat. You can find posts about it in my profile.

Personal experiences, suggestions and tips are welcome.

Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings from Hungary.

boat life is great. It does mean constant upkeep of the vessel etc but the freedom is amazing. Do you plan on being in the Med?

Do you plan on being in the Med?

It would be good to sail towards a warmer place, for example to Spain. But first I would need to get a sailboat. By the way, I plan to get a sailboat around $1000 USD. I do not really know about the current opportunities, but I saw a few people on the internet, who bought a sailboat for $1000 USD in the recent past (a few months ago).

if you going to sea best make sure the hulls are in very good condition. The canals are shallow but the seas are deep!

We will see. At first I have to collect enough money to be able to even buy one. If (when) I do, I will probably ask an expert to check the sailboat before I buy it. I currently do not have any experience with sailboats. The money part is mostly depending on Hive. Probably I can earn $1000 USD in the next 1-2 years, maybe sooner. Everything is depending on the support of the community. I am very grateful and very happy for all the support I receive. And when I get my boat, I will be out of the financial discrimination, in which I currently live in.

Thanks @joanstewart :) Was a slightly different kind of video this time but i kind of wanted to do something to show it's not a horrific place to stay as some have made out

Always good to share knowledge gained, lifestyle is so very different, also catching on sure some Hivers will find this most informative.

Enjoyed the scenery along the way a place I have never visited, learn something new about different cities.

it's great because of it's industrial heritage the canals go into all the big citeis so you can blend country life and being in nature with city visits

Pleasant life living on canals, not easier, also comes with it's up's and downs but as you cruise along you learn to go on instinct especially if you know the city. Keep enjoying.
