Command: $distribution

in Banjo3 years ago (edited)

Long ago, there was a way to get the distribution of stake for the old chain. This report was available on steemd.com:

https://web.archive.org/web/20170601125614/https://steemd.com/distribution

Banjo can also produce reports like this:

$distribution [days]

The default is to run the report for 90 days. If you want a different timeframe, just provide the number of days:

$distribution 365

This report defines "active" vs. "inactive" by the last voting date.

Note that the output of the report is in a markdown table. So you can just grab the report output and place it right into a post, which will become:

$MVlevelacctsaccts %stake %
$00dust2024545.86%0.00%
$2.240.01newbie1029923.33%0.16%

You can also just use $dist as an alias to this command.

Only 223 accounts have over $22K of HIVE?! 👀

Yes. Although, that's only 223 accounts, active in one year. But expanding the report over the full life of the chain only brings that number to 262.

makes me want to stack up and join the superhero club!

Right. That's the point. 😇

Given a lot of people have tokens on Hive Engine, I wonder if there are a lot more whales than we initially thought?

Perhaps another three "superhero" accounts, if they were staked. But this distribution looks at VESTS, so only staked HIVE.

Yet they is still progress on the hive blockchain, more and more numbers will be added in time to come.

Good contents thanks for posting ❤️

I'm your 200th vote, wow!!
