As a youth, the worst mistake you can make is depending on a private salary work because this work won't last forever and there would be no pension to keep you going when you retire due to old age.
I have seen people who work in a factory for 13 years with no achievement because there is no room for one, what can one achieve with a salary that can only feed and pay bills and some salaries are not even enough to sort bills except one manages it, there is no spare to save if such person spend years of his lifetime doing that work and at the end, the body failed him, how will he survive because once you can't do the work again, your salary also stopped and they look for a young able body to replace you.
When it comes to securing your future, the best advice I can give is:
Learn a Skill: I regret not learning any skills when I was young, assuming I learned one it would have been easy for me to own a shop and practice what I learned, there are many vocations one can learn now, barbing, tailoring,, makeup artist and so on, people are earning a lot of money from this skills, they earn better than salary workers.
So focus on acquiring a skill rather than depending on a collar job that pays you peanuts.
Get a Government job: I don't know how hard it is to get one but this is the best job you can get that can help you survive during your old age, the last time I checked, the government pays pensions to their retired civil workers and they pay this till the person die, it is smaller than their salary but at least it is something to keep them fed and well during old age.
So if you are so interested in a salary job, then your best bet is a government own.
Own a business: This is a wide topic when it comes to having your own business, it is not necessarily a buy-and-sell trade, you can invest in real estate in your prime if you have the money, buy land, build or buy houses, this will secure your future.
Not everyone has the money to do this, but you can start from somewhere, start thinking like a boss, and figure out a business plan that can work for you, it could be trading or vocation, anything that is going to earn you money..

A government job is very difficult to get and according to my knowledge government jobs don't provide high salary in more than non-government jobs. Most of people go for it because of corruption. I will try my best to be honest and I don't think a government job is the best option for me.
In the case of skill, I think you have a skill already and it's the writing skill.
