What will I be remembered for after a day's fame?

I welcome you to my blog. The importance of legacy cannot be overemphasized; every day as we go about our day-to-day activities, it is a question that should cross our minds: What are those things that I will be remembered for? Because none of us will be here forever, eventually one day we will leave, but what will those we are leaving behind hang onto? What is that impact we have had on the lives of those whose paths have crossed ours? Was the impact a positive one or a negative one? Will I be remembered for good or for bad? Will people be happy I left or be sad I left and wish that I had stayed longer?

As much as death is a sad thing and no one prays that it befalls anyone, trust me, there are people who, when they pass, people are glad they did. There are deaths that are celebrated not because the person lived long enough but because for the short time they were here they were a thorn on people's flesh, they only made people feel bad, they only gave depression the go ahead to hold people captive instead of helping them out. Some might disagree, but there are people who, all their lives, have done nothing good other than cause others pain.

Everyone is advised to actually do and act right so they will be remembered for something good, so when they pass, people wish they actually stayed around longer because of how good they are. Our world is evolving, and technology is slowly taking over, causing a lot of things we used to see as normal to become a thing of the past. Kindness and empathy are now something you cannot find in at least 90 percent of the people walking the face of the earth. People have gotten selfish and greedy and are only after self-interest and don't care about anyone else except themselves. Some people, because they have opportunities others don't have, now feel they are way above others and stop seeing them as their equals; instead, they feel they are now superiors and want others to treat them like one.

Every one of us walking on the face of the earth will be remembered for one thing or another long after we are gone; it might be good or it might be bad, but that remembrance is certain, but it is best if we are actually remembered for good and not bad.

For me, I will be remembered for showing kindness in a world where only a few people still remember that people deserve to be shown kindness whether you stand to gain anything from doing that or not. There are many people who will not show you kindness if you have nothing to offer them. Kindness is supposed to be something we show to everyone and not just a selected group or to people who we feel can return the show of kindness.
