My First Hive Meet Up. Tamale-Ghana Version

in HiveGhanalast year

Hi everyone ☺️, I want to apologize for my absence the past 5 months. It was a time of personal growth, and I'm grateful to be back. I was excited to hear from @mcsamm about our first meet-up, which was scheduled for January 27, 2023 in Tamale and Kumasi. I live in Tamale and participated in the event here, which was organized by myself and @depressedfuckup. We also served as moderators. Let's dive into how the meet-up went.

WHAT REALLY HAPPENED

The meet-up started at 10:30am instead of its scheduled 10:00am start time. 14 attendees were present, including 5 who already had some experience with Hive but wanted further education. @depressedfuckup played a crucial role in making the meet-up successful. I was late due to getting refreshments, but arrived at 10:30am. The discussions officially started at 10:45am.

I began by introducing myself and @depressedfuckup to the audience. Afterward, we delved into our discussions. As a moderator, I spoke first, followed by the general discussions. Our topics covered the following points:

  • The brief history of blockchain and social media blockchain, and how it operates.

  • An overview of the Hive blockchain, as a social media platform.

  • Ensured that everyone comprehended its functionality and navigation especially with the dApps of hive such as Ecency, Peakd, LeoFinance and many more. We also discussed the extra rewards we could get uses these Dapps such as Ecency points which could be used to boost posts and more. LeoFinance tokens was also discussed.

  • Discussed plagiarism and the consequences it brings on the Hive platform, and advised members to be mindful and avoid jeopardizing their reputation.

  • Taught the participants how to use images from free copyrighted sources such as pixabay.com, pexel.com, and creativecommons.com, and the importance of citing their sources.

  • Explained the Hive wallet, including the Hive token, HBD, and Hive Power, emphasizing the benefits of powering up and avoiding power down.

  • Emphasized the rewards that come from voting for fellow members and highlighted the importance of engaging in the community and building connections. Hive is a supportive community where everyone is like family, and the more you participate, the more your network grows.

Remember the adage, treat others as you wish to be treated

  • I guided participants through Hive's communities and assisted them in joining their desired ones. I discussed creating quality posts and encouraged them to not lose hope if their posts aren't curated but to keep producing great content. I also mentioned the possibility of participating in community-run weekly contests and earning rewards for winning.

After answering questions to their satisfaction, I concluded the talk. We then shared snacks and took photos. Below are some of the pics we took.

It was a shame that I couldn’t be present for this one. Hopefully I will be available for the next one to learn from the bosses of the blockchain.

As seen from the pictures, it was a good one and thank you all for moderating and making it a wonderful experience.

Bro it’s not a shame, I know if you were here you would have come. It’s not still late we are always here to assist in terms of any difficulties. Thanks 😊

You look so good in your hive shirt. Thanks for helping to make the day beautiful.

Thanks bro. Many thanks to you as well

hive on

You made it lovely. It was a great one and you are one of those who made it such. We will have to do more of this. We are glad to have you back again. Have a great stay boss.

But you have to one day tell the ecosystem about that Yogurt we took which was hand made by you. Bro, you nailed that thing. The ecosystem must taste it❤️🤩😅

Hive on. 🇬🇭

Thanks bro. Don’t worry soon I’ll introduce my yoghurt business to hive. I’m glad you enjoyed it

It was awesome meeting all you amazing friends. As a new customer on this blockchain, attending this meetup was a big win for me. I grabbed a lot from you people and I’m looking forward to us meeting again.

The snacks was dope but someone thieved my bottle of yoghurt. That person should own up before I decide to take legal steps.

This is beautiful. Hopefully, it's the beginning of bigger things to come. Kudos to the team.

Thanks brother.

You'll just making me feel jealous that I've never been to any Hive meetup 😒

It's fine, I know I will someday... Maybe my first will be at the next Ghana Hive meetup 😅 expect my entrance!

But I heard you came to the meetup by 11 with the refreshment, I'm seeing 10:30 here... Why? 😂🏃‍♀️

Seem like you had all the photos from the meetup with you, so many to look at 😁

I guess I checked the wrong time 😂 the yoghurt was ready since I produce that one. The issue was the pie which the lady delayed me a bit. But I got there before the program started.

You surely must be there in our next meet up. It’s good you get more jealous so you don’t miss the next. Thanks by the way

Lol I see where the lateness came from now... It's good you got there before it started anyways.

Haha I'll stay jealous then, hopefully it will take me to the next meetup 😝

Surely. 😊 have a goodnight

Have a nice rest 🙂

Great work done, thank you all

The meetup was a blast bro! Let’s do this soon again:)

Looks like you guys had so much fun.
And that yoghurt 😭🥹 is there any leftovers?😂

I’m glad the meet-up was a success. Hope to meet you all at the next one.

Sure. Hoping to see you next time. And for the yoghurt don’t worry ask @depressedfuckup for yours 😂
