My birthday in real life and on HIVE. A fast three years.

I have a lovely coincidence where my real life birthday is the exact same a my hive related birthday.

At the time I had applied for an account about three weeks before this date but for anybody who joined back then knows, there was a slight delay in actually getting an account. A problem which has been fixed at this stage. With hive onboard you can join almost instantly which is a huge improvement.

3 years of my life have passed since this fateful day. 3 years of fun, excitement, frustration, learning, laughing, fighting and a little insanity. It was a different world back in those days with crypto riding high and STEEM at the time sitting on $2. I hope to see those days again sometime. It actually feels a little like that at the moment to be honest.

The positivity is back in crypto. We had some lean years in between but projects kept building. Some fell away, some fell apart and some put their heads down and said they would be ready for the next wave. Ready for the next bull market. Ready for the new people.

Blockchain is here to stay. I do know that much. In what form is anybody's guess but we will see it being more and more utilized as people are given real use case for it.

It’s my hope that HIVE catches a large part of this action. We have all the fundamentals to do it. We have the tech and use case. We have real world products and people building even more.

We are however too dominated by tech people right now. People building without a clear vision of where we are going. It is important to keep working on the chain but we are failing miserably on the marketing and promotion side. We have great apps that are totally under utilized. We have a system built to be monetized and yet our price keeps dropping.

I have written about it before and I will keep writing about it until I can get more people on my side. We should be using every possible asset on the chain to increase our price and visibility. I hope to see a time where we have enough apps to sustain the price and system but that won’t happen unless we can drive it up there first and get more eyes onto this space.

I have had a great experience up to this point in my HIVE journey and look forward to the next 3 years and what it brings. I might be getting older in real life but that has brought some maturity to it as well. It is my hope that HIVE can gain some of this maturity as well and work together for a positive outcome for all of us.

We have wasted far too much energy over the past three years fighting over scraps when we should have been taking over the crypto space. As first movers STEEM could have been a powerhouse but was badly managed and the community was acting from greed instead of intelligence.

Too many people think that their opinion is all that matters instead of making way for everybody to have an opinion. We don’t have to like it but we do have to give them room to make it. Lets learn from the past and work together.

Work smarter and work with a long term plan in mind. One that builds our user base, pushes up the token value and makes something special.

HIVE can be that powerhouse in crypto but we will need to work together as a community to get there. Take all of our strengths and knowledge to build a welcoming and diverse space for apps and people to build their own space.

I spend yesterday celebrating my real life birthday with friends and would now like to do the same for my HIVE birthday with this post. Lets have a great year together and make the most of the time to mature and build.
