As you guys know I am a huge HW fan lol and so when the news hit me I was pretty hype... it's pretty ironic actually becasue earlier today I made a script that tells me anytime anyone makes a post or comment that included HW, hivewatcher or hive watchers. I was able to get it running and even had the script output part of the comment/post as well as a link... I was not really paying attention but there was signs lol
Well ironed out all the kinks and had the script going, to only later on in a day get a message from someone letting me they did not get DHF funding, I can't say I am disappointed working on a scrip that would not be useless, I am glad they are gone and like I said many times before I think they did more harm then good.
Anyway it is going to be interesting to see what happens next, if hive culture gets better or worse, I am not apposed to an HW type thing going on chain but it needs to be way more transparent and standardized.
So I think that is about it for this post, it's not 300 words but hey HW is gone, besides I started to write more but it did not seem like folks reading more...

I wouldn't say they are "gone". They have lost DHF funding for now so could be considered "suspended" but they are still probably operational and may even be still actively policing.
So far looks like onchain activity from them is done, and and their discrod their said they suspending operation, would be nice to get the inside scoop on all that

Great post!! A post that captures the community's sentiment well. Certainly, relief at the end of a system perceived as opaque, but also awareness that the lack of control could create new problems. Unfortunately, HW has driven away several people I had introduced to HIVE... and one of them brought rather significant financial content to the community. HW has done good, but also harm. We Italians, before accusing someone, warn them and talk to them. The method adopted by HW is not aligned with Italian culture. HW was a system of control, a system of control is absolutely necessary in an economic system, but it must be competent and know how to navigate it. !LOLZ

I wouldn't say HW were all bad as there has been plenty of abuse that someone needed to deal with. I just think they put too strict conditions on people to prove that they were genuine. We can't afford to drive good people away. Not many people are willing to downvote abuse and you probably need to stay fairly anonymous if you do to avoid the hassle it can bring. I was part of a separate anti-abuse group and I saw plenty of crap, but I gave it up as I don't need the stress.
