The Chopping Block - Dinsoo Wireless Nintendo Switch Controller

I have no patience in my life for defective things. Nothing is built to last forever. When items break, they inevitably do it at an inconvenient time. While they will ultimately be thrown away since they can't be repaired, I find it therapeutic to destroy them before they make their way to the trash.

I had help cutting down a curly willow tree that was obnoxious and dropped branches all over the backyard. I had to pick up the branches before I could mow the lawn. I now use the stump for cutting wood and for destroying defective items already on their way to the trash heap.

Today's item on the chopping block is a Dinsoo wireless controller for the Nintendo Switch 1 and 2.

It started having issues lately. Over the weekend, I found the left joystick had become crushed into the unit. I don't know if someone sat on it, it got crushed between the couch and the end table or what. Even once I got it unstuck, sensor was clearly damaged as it was in a permanent state of scrolling left. These controllers are unavailable now, but they only cost me $30 for two of them on Amazon, so this piece of junk had to go!

Two chops later and...

This is what was left! Good riddance to garbage! Silly me of course forgot about the internal battery pack. Fortunately, all I did was nick it so it just smoked for a few minutes and that was the end of it.
