A Wet Walk Around Holmebrook Country Park

Yet more bloody rain, but I wasn't the only one silly enough to be out today, as I took a very wet walk around Holmebrook Country Park. The park has a very large lake that is home to ducks, swans, moorhens, coots, gooseanders and Canadian geese.

The birds are so used to people walking around the lake that they will rush out of the water to see if you have any bread.

There's various cycle paths and footpaths and places to let your dog off the lead, a cafe and football pitches. There's also a brick ball there by artist Colin Rose. I'm still not sure the idea behind it but it always reminds me of Indiana Jones in 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' where he escapes a humongous rolling boulder. Thankfully, it stayed in place when I walked past. Can you just imagine what the headlines would have been!?

I think it was even too wet for the ducks!

The stream running next to the park was quite angry in parts. The water was further up the bank than it usually is with all the rain we've had.

Even the fishing platform was partly underwater.

It was quite a miserable day. Unfortunately, everytime I come here I always get lost. Today was no exception. Thank goodness for Google maps!

Haha! The white birds stood there like they were all having a meeting and ofcourse the black one was addressing them😂

It's a good thing that Google map was there to help you find your way.

I had to walk on tiptoe to get close for a photograph. Once one flies off the others will follow. 🙂
