Even if that person is unknown,
even if that person's life ends in obscurity,
if that person is important to me,
I may want to carry on what they left behind.
But what about my life?
Eventually, others will forget me.
Even if I carry on that person's thoughts,
I will be forgotten.

例えその人の人生が無名に終わっても
それが私にとって大切な人ならば
残されたものを受け継ぎたくなるかもしれない
でも そんな私の人生はどうなんだ
他人に記憶されることはいずれなくなる
その人の思いを受け継いだところで
私は忘れられてしまう
