Visiting the new BMX and Skateboard park in my city - Visitando el nuevo parque de BMX y Skateboard de mi ciudad[ENG-ESP]

Hello cyclist friends, I hope with all my heart that you are feeling very well, today on Saturday afternoon I went to ride my bike for a while, taking advantage of the fact that the afternoon was very cool, I did the usual route on my road bike, everything was great , very few cars circulating so the streets were very lonely, I think it is one of the things we all like the most. Walking here and there I went out of my way to visit what will soon be the first BMX and skateboard park in my city Barquisimeto here in Venezuela, I was very impressed.

Hola amigas ciclistas espero de todo corazón que se encuentren muy bien, hoy en la tarde de sábado fui a rodar un rato en mi bicicleta, aprovechando que la tarde estaba muy fresca, hice el recorrido de siempre en mi bicicleta de ruta, todo estuvo genial, muy pocos autos circulando así que las calles estaban muy solitarias, creo que es una de las cosas que más nos gustan a todos. Paseando por aquí y por allá me desvié del camino para visitar lo que será muy pronto el primer parque BMX y skateboard de mi ciudad Barquisimeto aquí en Venezuela, quedé muy impresionado.

As I said before, the streets and avenues were very lonely, so it was a great opportunity to go at full speed, on my bicycle it is very difficult to ride in a very slow gear. On the way I met some friends, so everything was better, although they were riding BMX bikes so I had to slow down.

Como dije antes, las calles y avenidas estaban muy solas, así que fue toda una oportunidad para ir a toda velocidad, en mi bicicleta es muy difícil andar en una marcha muy lenta. En el camino me encontré con algunos amigos, así que todo fue mejor, aunque ellos andaban en bicicletas BMX así que tuve que bajar la marcha.

I went up the main avenue and from up there you could see the park, I tried to take a photo but it was very difficult, I couldn't take my eyes off the road in case a car suddenly came at full speed. So from there I decided to cross the entire avenue, turn around and enter the park.

Subí por la avenida principal y desde ahí arriba se podía ver el parque, intenté sacar una foto pero era muy difícil, no podía quitar la mirada de la carretera por si venia de pronto un auto a toda velocidad. Así que desde ahí decidí atravesar toda la avenida, dar la vuelta y entrar al parque.

It was easy to enter, the gate was open, the park is in full construction, there is a lot left to do, however you can see that most of it is finished. To my surprise, there were also other visiting cyclists, I was not the only one there, so I had the opportunity to talk and share opinions about this work.

Fue fácil entrar, el portón estaba abierto, el parque está a un en plena construcción, le falta mucho sin embargo puede verse que la mayor parte está terminada. Para mi sorpresa también estaban otros ciclistas visitantes, no era el único que estaba ahí, así que tuve oportunidad de conversar y compartir opiniones acerca de esta obra.

The park still lacks two large ramps that I saw on one side, but everything related to jumping levels is in very good condition. One thing I see missing are tubes and rails to practice Skateboarding, these rails are never missing in this type of parks, but maybe I think they will be added later. With how corrupt those in the government are, I am very impressed by the fact that the work has advanced so quickly. I think their plan is to inaugurate it on the anniversary of the founding of our city. They always choose some work that they are building to give it to citizens on that special day.

Al parque aún le faltan dos rampas grandes que vi por uno de los costados, pero todo lo referente a niveles para saltar están en muy buena condiciones. Una cosa que veo que faltan son tubos y barandas para practicar Skateboard, estas barandas nunca faltan en esta clase de parques, pero tal vez pienso que serán añadidas más adelantes. Con lo corruptos que son los que están en el gobierno, me impresiona mucho el hecho de que la obra haya avanzado tan rápido, creo que su plan es inaugurarla en el aniversario de la fundación de nuestra ciudad, siempre escogen alguna obra que estén construyendo para obsequiarla a los ciudadanos en ese día tan especial.

I tried to jump into the pool and jump some ramps, but these 700cc wheels and my bike in general prevented me from doing it hahaha, it only occurs to me to do something like that. Likewise, I took a tour of the park and saw that it is big, I want to be there the day they start painting it. I was fantasizing about the concrete painted with full-color murals, full of a lot of street art where the artists of my city show off with their works.

Intenté lanzarme a la piscina y saltar algunas rampas, pero estos rines 700cc y mi bicicleta en general me lo impidieron jajaja, solo a mi se me ocurre ,hacer algo así. De igual forma hice todo un recorrido al parque y vi que es grande, quiero estar el día que comiencen a pintarlo. Estuve fantaseando con el concreto pintado con murales a full color, lleno de bastante arte callejero donde los artistas de mi ciudad se luzcan con sus obras

I spent a long time talking, I told the younger ones that before to do stunts you had to settle for jumping holes in the road, or jumping sidewalks, because none of this existed. Apart from that, if the police saw you with a skateboard they would label you as a criminal, fortunately we live in another era and this beautiful sport will be able to be practiced as it should and it will be an opportunity for many to develop their talents. I leave you with this beautiful sunset, after leaving the park.

ME quedé un bue rato conversando, le decía a los más jóvenes que antes para hacer acrobacias tenías que conformarte con saltar huecos en la carretera, o saltar las aceras, porque nada de esto existía. A parte de eso, si la policía de veía con una patineta te etiquetaban de delincuentes, afortunadamente vivimos en otra era y este hermoso deporte podrá practicarse como se debe y será oportunidad para muchos de poder desarrollar sus talentos. Los dejo con este bello atardecer, luego de salir del parque.

I hope you liked this tour, I was able to show a little what this great park will be where youth can have fun, learn and improve their talents. I hope in a few months to be able to bring good news that the park has been finished, when that happens, do not doubt that I will be here showing that process. I say goodbye until a new opportunity.
