Heeeyho Readers! Does your bike have a name?
I've been fiddling on Photoshop to create a paint design for the monster-cross. Since this project's original frame manufacturer is no longer in business and, because this project is far away from the original build, I decided to create my own brand: Bomber Cycles.
The name comes after the original idea, of when I bought those red parts. I wanted to create a bicycle design inspired by World War II aircrafts, which, for me, represent the epitome in terms of flying sexyness — original colors, some in bare polished aluminum, cammouflaged, decals, you name it. To be more precise, I wanted it to look like a P47 - Thunderbolt
After seeings hundreds of photos of Thunderbolts, I came upon an unbeatable plane design. The name? "Big Ass Bird". Epic! So, I used the color scheme, added some invasion stripes and tried to create names as crazy as the original. Name ideas are open for discussion.
Of course a bicycle frame is not an airplane, therefore, require some artistic touch (that I don't have; but readers do). Also, we need to use the silver paint already applied to the frame as a base coat to avoid repainting the whole thing.
Anyways. Below is how the bicycle looks like now.
The result is shown below after a bit of Photoshop magic. Still unsure about adding colors or leaving the frame as is, minimalist, without decals or anything. What do you think?
You can't quite see, but there's an olive green stripe running on top of the top-tube, just like on the aircraft.
What gets me is the name. A bicycle needs a name. My blue mountain-bike, for example, is named the Beast (oficial name is Frontier). This one is up for voting. Ideas include:
- Monster cross
- Monster 90
- Mad Ass Bike
- Bike-o-Rama
and... my favorite
- Flying Fuck
Name would go on the top-tube, as shown below
Flying Fuck is quite suggestive to this whole bicycle build. The obsolete wheels size, the modifications to make an old frame work, the weird handle-bar... it's just like the builder doesn't give a flying fuck. Love it.
Nothing is defined yet, that's why I'm writing this post to let readers participate. I know some of you are crazier than me to create nonsense, hilarious stuff; others are design geniuses.
Questions:
Would you leave the frame minimalistic (silver plus red details)?
Would you paint? How?
Any name ideas?
Feel free to participate in the comments. Anything is valid in this wild world of bicycle building.
Peace.

Very cool design! Are you going tondo the paint job yourself too? That seems quite difficult to do isn't it?
And about the names. Why don't you call the bicycle Thunderbolt? Or stay in the theme of your other bicycle and call this one The Monster?
But it's all upto you!

It would be doable to paint, I hope. I've never painted anything that large apart from the wheels, which turned out pretty good. My biggest fear is applying clear coat... a two-part clear coat is a lot better than those in spray cans, but I'd need an air compressor. We'll have to hope for the best xD
Flying Fuck is winning 🔥🔥
It's so... sooo I mean, even saying the word out loud sounds cool xDD
