Waves, Sunsets, and New Adventures in La Union Day 1

in Daily Blog21 days ago (edited)

As I mentioned in my previous post, I went on a solo trip to celebrate my birthday! For the first part of my trip, I embraced the mountains, forest, and cold weather of Baguio. Read about my forest trail walk experience here.

For the rest of my trip, I braved the waves, heat, and unfamiliarity of La Union. It was my first time there, so I stayed in the most famous part of LU-- San Juan, La Union.

My accommodation is beachfront, which I am super grateful for! So while I was waiting for my check-in time, I just stayed in the restaurant area of the resort as I tried to inhale the serenity that the sound of the waves was bringing.

To be honest, I didn't have any set plans for this La Union trip. The only priority I had in mind was ... to try the yogurt bowl in Seabuds. Haha! And cool enough, it was located right beside my accommodation! So right after settling in my room and changing into a more beach-appropriate outfit, I headed to Seabuds right away.

I ordered the Funky Monkey, which consisted of raw cacao, banana, and homemade peanut butter. I was kind of nervous before tasting it because I was having high expectations for it, plus it was one of the main reasons why I wanted to visit LU. It would be such a downer if it was not good.

BUT. It turned out to be one of the best yogurt bowls I've ever tasted! Aaaaa. I was so happy and giddy while eating it. Also, it was a relief that my excitement didn't go to waste. Hihi

I also spent the afternoon painting with watercolor while doing a video call with my clingy niece, who kept on calling me during this entire trip. Haha

At sunset, I stayed by the shore. It was refreshing to sit on a scarf on the sand by myself while observing the groups of people around me.

The sunset was beautiful, so of course, I had to have a picture with it! With my trustee tripod and phone, I took several photos and videos! It honestly felt weird and uncomfy at first, but I just kept on telling myself, "They don't really care about you. Just pretend nobody's around and take those photos and videos! You'll surely regret it if you won't." Haha

For dinner, I just walked along the highway to look for a place to dine in. I ended up in Nak Nak Eatery, where I ordered Buttered Shrimp. I was surprised with the amount of serving for its price! Plus, it was delicious, too!

Such a good way to cap off the day! hihi

Thank you for reading until here. I will share more about my experience during my birthday solo trip in the coming days!

Have a great day. Take care.

thank you so much!

I think you enjoyed your solo trip and you also had a chance to unwind without much pressure. The yogurt bowl must be popular because that was part of your intention. It does look appetizing and I like its serving bowl coz it looks organic. It was a lovely day spent at a relaxing place.

Hello! Yes, I had a great time. Thank you.
And the yogurt bowl indeed is popular! A lot of people who visit La Union drop by Seabuds to try it. 😊
