My busy day of one-thing-after-another🫠 our breakfast and snacking

in Daily Bloglast month

My day started at 5:45am. Prepared all the fresh drinking water and hot water in flask for family. Drank my coffee. Started journey at 6:30am to the hospital. Thankful just minor traffic jam. Reached hospital at 7:10am and queued up for my ticket number.

After the early morning hospital trip to help my Aunt to register a new appointment for her cardiac test, I ended up at the morning market to have some alone time for some thinking process. Here, there is a small section consisting of few stalls selling food. I spotted the stall I had been looking for. She used to be at another coffee shop and suddenly she shifted. Glad that I found her finally! Because the boys super love the buns she cooked. I decided to eat my breakfast here while waiting for the buns I ordered.

Breakfast at Morning Market

I ordered a pan mee soup, specifically the tear-type because it reminded me of my mum's style. Being a Hakka herself, she used to cook often pan mee for us but she said she totally forgot how to make it already. This stall sells other noodle too but mostly based on pan mee. Pan Mee basically is noodle made from handmade dough with flour, egg, salt and water, chewy and have that instinct dough taste due to thicker than normal noodles we have.

My Pan Mee Soup noodle for breakfast

This one was surprisingly tasted like home, not too overly monosodium glutamate, but had that delicious anchovy broth which I could tell she boiled the soup by using fresh anchovies. Not too salty and totally to my liking. The noodle soup was served with fried anchovies, some pork slices, vegetables and some mushrooms. The dipping sauce chilli was bombastic, paired so well with the pan mee. This bowl was priced at Ringgit Malaysia 8 (RM8).

Bakwa Egg Bun

The boys love especially bakwa egg buns from the lady boss. She said she long time didn't see me, of course, because everytime I came market with my Aunt, we wouldn't walk pass the food section. I told her I was so happy to see her. She sent regards to my parents because my parents always bought from her whenever they came KL to visit me.

This is her stall and she was cooking my order which was bakwa egg buns. Bakwa is Chinese salty-sweet meat jerky, usually being sold during Chinese New Year.

I brought back the food and the children happily eating it. She would butter the bun and pan fried a little. Wrapped the bakwa with egg, topped with cucumber, mayonnaise and ketchup. Yums! Bought one for each and they said not enough, next time needed to order two for each. Each bun costed RM4.20.

I was sitting alone, contemplating life, and also new added responsibility to take care of elderly, really need to scrutinise all my responsibilities and try to manage them well. May God give us strength. And that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

The market was a peaceful place to do all the thinking.

After breakfast, I continued with my house chores and cooking lunch, then picking my niece from her kindergarten, followed by tutoring job. It was report card day too, so I went to my eldest son's school at 4:30pm. After meeting up with teacher, the student could follow the parent back. He was so happy because he could go home at 5pm due to me being early too.

But he was feeling famish because he didn't get to buy snack during recess. I drove pass a stall selling fried snack and he wanted it.

He bought fried chicken breast, fried banana fritters and fried cempedak fritters. See, he couldn't wait and straight away ate in the car. Haha! Growing teenager! 🥰

It was a busy day for me indeed, even the boys commented they had not seen me sitting down. Lol... After I finished their dinner and cleaning up kitchen, I could literally feel the bed calling me haha. Anyway, thank God to be alive to handle all the day-to-day busyness. Phew.

And how come I did not blog about our dinner? Because by then, I was so exhausted that we all ate instant ramen with added egg and vegetables.. nothing fancy about it, so no photos.

Still, thank you for reading.
