Hace un par de días fue un día bastante ajetreado para mí y quería bloggearles un poco sobre lo que sucedió porque además de lo ajetreado, fue un largo día.

A couple of days ago was a pretty busy day for me, and I wanted to blog a little bit about what happened because, in addition to being busy, it was a long day.
Verán, hace mucho tiempo, más del que quisiera realmente, he estado padeciendo de lesiones necias en la piel, he ido por medicina general y me han recetado un par de cosas que solo me solucionan por poco tiempo y luego vuelven, esto me ha tenido muy mal mental y emocionalmente, pero lamentablemente no podía permitirme pagar por una cita con un dermatologo porque son sumamente costosos, hasta que me enteré de esta jornada gracias a una amiga, sobre un despistaje de psoriasis donde estarían examinando varios dermatologos del estado, así que no podía desaprovechar esta oportunidad.
Mí hermano me acompañó a esta aventura porque debía salir muy temprano de casa y estas horas suelen ser peligrosas, así que salimos a las 5:20 AM de acá, aún estaba oscuro, además no sabía con exactitud la dirección, soy mala con las direcciones, pero por suerte, llegamos a salvo y éramos el número 2 en la lista.
You see, for a long time, longer than I would really like, I have been suffering from stubborn skin lesions. I have been to my general practitioner and have been prescribed a couple of things that only solve the problem for a short time and then it comes back. This has made me feel very bad mentally and emotionally, but unfortunately, I couldn't afford to pay for an appointment with a dermatologist because they are extremely expensive, until I found out about this event thanks to a friend, about a psoriasis screening where several state dermatologists would be examining people, so I couldn't pass up this opportunity.
My brother accompanied me on this adventure because I had to leave home very early, and these hours are usually dangerous. So we left here at 5:20 AM. It was still dark, and I didn't know the exact address—I'm terrible with directions—but luckily, we arrived safely and were number 2 on the list.

El lugar era una iglesia, porque la jornada era una especie de beneficencia para la comunidad, por ende, pese a que era la número #2 en la lista, en realidad, esa lista era una de rezagados, pues la lista principal eran 60 personas y si alguna de esas personas que tenían prioridad no asistía, ahí es donde entrabamos nosotros los rezagados de ese día.
Yo con esta noticia sentí un poco de decepción, no lo oculto, pero tenía mucha fe de que me vieran y por fin saber qué es lo que tengo, creo que como dicen por ahí, la fe mueve montañas porque logré obtener un cupo y, aunque pensaba que saldría muy tarde de ahí, la fila avanzó rápidamente, por suerte. Mi hermano por su lado, me esperó pacientemente mientras jugaba fútbol en el teléfono.
The venue was a church, because the event was a kind of charity event for the community. So, even though I was number two on the list, that list was actually a waiting list, because the main list had 60 people on it, and if any of those people with priority didn't show up, that's where we, the people on the waiting list, came in.
I won't hide the fact that I felt a little disappointed when I heard this news, but I had a lot of faith that they would see me and I would finally find out what was wrong with me. I think that, as they say, faith moves mountains, because I managed to get a spot, and although I thought I would be there for a long time, luckily the line moved quickly. My brother waited patiently for me while playing soccer on his phone.
Después de tomarnos la tensión, medirnos y pesarnos, me dijeron que fuera con la médico internista, una joven encantadora llamada Yarlim, luego de explicarle con detalles sobre todos mis síntomas, llamó a los doctores Yoli y Eleazar, ambos dermatologos especializados y muy amables me vieron las lesiones y me diagnosticaron dermatitis atópica, me dieron mi tratamiento y listo, aproximadamente a las 10:40 AM estaba saliendo de la iglesia muy agradecida.
After taking my blood pressure, measuring me, and weighing me, they told me to go see the internist, a lovely young woman named Yarlim. After explaining all my symptoms in detail, she called Dr. Yoli and Dr. Eleazar, both of whom are specialized dermatologists and very kind. They examined my lesions and diagnosed me with atopic dermatitis. They gave me my treatment, and that was it. At approximately 10:40 a.m., I was leaving the church feeling very grateful.
Después me fui con mi hermano a un parque que quedaba cerca de ahí para poder sentarnos a desayunar, porque con todo el estrés del momento ni habíamos comido, así que ya más tranquilos, comimos sentados en un banco y aquí empezó a llover, luego salió el sol como si nada, Maturin momento.
Comimos y caminamos hacia la parada, no sin antes tomar algunas fotos en el parque porque el ambiente estaba muy bonito para las fotos, aunque la lluvia repentina y sol luego, hizo que nos diera más calor, pero no importa, se logró el objetivo del día y yo estaba feliz de haberlo logrado pese a todo.
Then I went with my brother to a park nearby so we could sit down and have breakfast, because with all the stress of the moment we hadn't eaten anything, so once we had calmed down, we ate sitting on a bench and then it started to rain, then the sun came out as if nothing had happened, a Maturin moment.
We ate and walked to the bus stop, but not before taking some photos in the park because the atmosphere was very nice for photos, although the sudden rain and then the sun made us feel hotter, but it didn't matter, we achieved the goal of the day and I was happy to have done so despite everything.
Así es la salud en mí país, Venezuela amigos, un lujo tener una cita con un especialista, pero eso es algo de lo que me quejaré después, por ahora, me despido.

That's how healthcare is in my country, Venezuela, friends. It's a luxury to have an appointment with a specialist, but that's something I'll complain about later. For now, I'll say goodbye.
