Hello my fellow Hivian, it's been awhile as I have been absent from the platform for some days due to busy and tight work schedule which till now I still haven't gotten a free time to sit and rest because am always travelling on the road, today i decided to follow a superior of mine to complete a task being assigned to us by the company using that as an excuse not to drive, because am literally exhausted from driving for four days consecutively till now in which I don't have a choice but to travel.
Yesterday when i drove out of the house to go pick up a colleague of mine in the city of lafia so that we will go for an assignment together, I called him before I left the house to wait for me by the road side so that I will just pick him and from there we continue our journey, he told me he will be there before I arrive so I took his word for it and left the house. But on reaching there he hasn't arrived yet so I had no choice but to wait even though I knew delaying will make us fall behind schedule. While I was waiting I decided to step out of the vehicle to receive some fresh air and take some pictures to use for my blog because I know I have to squeeze time regardless of anything
As I was waiting by the road for my colleague to come something suddenly caught my attention, from far away I sighted some cars on a high chase over-speeding coming towards the lane I parked, when the were getting closer I got a clearer view of the cars that were over-speeding and it turns out to be the Nigerian Immigration chasing after two brand new Mercedes C300 on a high chase with no regards for other vehicles that were on the road which was a very dangerous thing to do at that moment
Even though I don't have the faintest idea why those vehicles were been chased and what exactly was happening, I panicked a little not because I haven't seen a high speed chase before but because the way those two vehicles were driving it was as if their life depended on it, I could feel the desperation in their driving as they approached and were about to pass me. In my mind I suddenly thought "if these guys are caught, no matter how little the offense they committed, it might escalate because of the high chase these officers where chasing them and the did not stop.
But I also took notice of something else, which is the fact that these drivers were skillful drivers because even with the high chase and the speed they were on, the still manage to navigate through the traffic and other vehicles on the road without hitting anyone and the officers still couldn't catch up to them. Standing there as I was watching the drama unfold then my colleague arrived and we drove off to our destination
Our journey started from the city of lafia where I picked my colleague close to the Ta'al Conference Hall and we headed inside lafia city passing through the Government house to run some errands before finally embarking on our journey to Makurdi. It was quite a hectic journey but we completed our task and came back late at night and the cycle continued today again.
I was able to squeeze some time to write this post today even though am still moving on the road but mostly because I had to improvise and decide not to drive
That will be all for now
#peace
Sometimes the crime of some people is worth the chasing and some times it isn't, just that most of these officers in our country are about their stomach and not their real jobs which of maintaining law and order.
Don't know you drive distances like this, I think I'll enroll for my driving classes one of this days:)
Truly spoken chief @ovey10, some of our officers are just after their stomach disregarding their official duties but in this case I don't really know which is it.
Enrolling for driving classes will be a great idea because you might be gifted a car at any time 😁
