This is a popular windsurfer and kite flyer place. One of the most windiest places in the area. I visited it today (on 2024.01.22) and yesterday too.

I have not tried kite surfing so far. I only seen others doing it. I heard that it is popular worldwide, and it has a strong tradition on the Canary Islands.

We live in a particular part of South Africa where it works really well I believe there are actually only a few really prime spots, globally! With the combination of tides this time of year and our incredible wind, it's a recipe or thrilling kitesurfing! Red Bull hosts a competition here annually called "The King of the Air" which sees an incredible influx of kite surfing tourists from all over the world. We are not in the centre of Cape Town, so this is a lovely boost for our seaside suburb. Of course it's just thrilling to watch the kite surfers actually get airborne and it's incredible how few accidents there are. People are super professional and considerate. I can spend all day sitting on the beach and watching them!
