Hello my friends,
As promised, today we are soft launching My Own Page for the community.
I genuinely believe this simple tool can be incredibly useful — powerful even — when it comes to bringing more users into Hive, and more importantly, giving them real utility.
Allow me a few minutes to make my point.
There are a lot of people out there who could benefit from a simple online presence. Small business owners, freelancers, artists… or even just someone who wants a clean, easy-to-remember place to showcase what they do.
And right now, the default answer is always the same: pay for hosting, buy a domain, deal with yearly fees.
But it doesn’t have to be that way.
You can tell your friend, your aunt, your cousin:
“Hey — if you have a Hive account, you can power it up a bit and have your own website. No yearly fees. No domain headaches. Just something simple that works.”
The resulting URL is short, clean, and easy to remember. It even fits perfectly in something like a Twitter bio.
And I’m not exaggerating when I say this — you can have a website up in under 60 seconds.
Let’s say @kesolink wants to put his CV online. He logs into My Own Page, picks the CV template, fills it out, and he’s done in minutes.
Now he has:
https://kesolink.snapie.io
And just like that — he has a website.
Feedback is Welcome
This is just the beginning.
I’m sure plenty of ideas will come up, and I want to hear them. If you can think of improvements or features you’d like to see, don’t hesitate to leave a comment.
Much love,
- MenO

I can't tell you how much I love this ! Having something where people can create a website without paying a monthly subscription sounds like an amazing tool to bring people into the Hive ecosystem. Not everyone has to be a content creator ! I'd love to see restaurants in particular use this, I get so fed up with the ones that insist on doing it all on Facebook because it's free and then having menus that are just blurry photos that are hard to read !
A question I do have is on the financial model, because I'd hope that it's set up to help grow Hive's overall value through increased adoption and market cap (and maybe even pay you a little something so you can repair the flood damage !)
Will offering a free level and then an option to delegate to remove the banner going to cover the costs of serving the website ?
Although I generally hate "salami slice" pricing, I can see the benefits of developing a series of chargeable upgrades over time.
These could include;
That's just it right now... the free one, has a bottom banner. If you delegate hive, it goes away, and you get a badge of recognition.
I love your ideas man... most def this is very doable!
It would be great if someone could have the option of adding the banner and support you, regardless of any delegation.
noice... i like it
Just thought of another feature..... the ability for restaurants (and maybe music venues, event organisers etc) to be able to take bookings.
Again, there are lots of ways to add to the basic booking form; being able to limit the number of places sold (to prevent more bookings being taken than slots available), being able to select from standard or premium places, being able to take deposits up front etc. Some of this might end up needing the creation of a back-end admin panel for the website owner - another possible chargeable extra which creates the potential for all kinds of new expansion !
super cool ideas... adding a payment system is not too difficult.

I think I ll try it tomorrow!!!
Congrats, I keep being amazed with the ideas, projects, creativity of many people on hive!
I'm reviewing and creating my website right now. I'll let you know how it turns out and if I have any questions, because I'm sure I will.
Hey... I'm going to try it and I'll tell you how it went.
Good luck! I am interested to see how it goes!
I'm reviewing it; you know how it is at the beginning, it's all trial and error, but what I've seen I like; it looks quite complete.
Really cool, and perfectly timed as I've just cancelled my previous website plan as I was fed up with paying so much.
I've started having a play, and it feels a little awkward at first, but I suspect that's mostly me still learning how all the separate modules work, and understanding all the options I can change!
currently have a home page https://dannewton.snapie.io/
and a project page https://dannewton.snapie.io/site/dannewton/pages/insect-portraits
and then a page on my running stats https://myownpage.snapie.io/site/dannewton/pages/running
They are all a work of progrees for now, but I'm really impressed with how quick it was to get an 'online presence' up and running, and how quick it is to correct and update it... I just need to spend a few weeks on it to get it looking how I want :-)
Sounds awesome! Probably going to try that out, using our Pandala account... Just have to remember to put it on my to do list.
This is looking great already. I am wondering if people could just use it instead of Linktree. That's one less service to worry about.
Where is the site data stored? I wonder that about a few things using Hive as they may still be vulnerable to the provider going away.
Currently stored in one of our servers. so its not full blockchain, but its blockchain powered, so to speak.
I've created a page. It's basic for now. I am not much of a web designer, so still figuring out how to place things where I want.
"real utility" could grow Hive adoption naturally
I m sure I will have many more ideas, but it would certainly be nice to have a list of the websites created, so that we can steal, ehmmm borrow ideas :)
great idea...
Thank you for this. So, is this a site where I can create my own website? And can I also offer my services?
your imagination is the limit!
200%👌
Thank you for the work done! 🙏
This is awesome! I may look into making a website for the Hive community I run.
looking forward to your feedback!
This would be fantastic. I'm interested.
As a regular user of your community, I'm interested in this. It sounds promising.
Hey, I want to see this too! It would be spectacular if the Tradfi community had its own website.

This sounds fantastic. It's worth trying out and supporting.
Excellent, as you already know from my side... Looking forward to finally get French Folks to sign up for that. Woohoo...
Está brutal, ya quiero probarlo
Finally, a complete, useful project on Hive. Not just some link to GitHub. Great job!
BTW, is it possible to add something like this:
<iframe
src="https://luma.com/embed/calendar/cal-EubuBUyhB1cAGeA/events"
width="600"
height="450"
frameborder="0"
style="border: 1px solid #bfcbda88; border-radius: 4px;"
allowfullscreen=""
aria-hidden="false"
tabindex="0"
i guess, i can easily add a button for custom code. So that advanced users could do this sort of thing.
good call
This is something I am likely to use from time to time. It's great to see do-it-yourself website builders on the blockchain. This is the type of project that can help Hive grow. It would be great if you could market it outside of Hive.
This sounds amazing! 🙏 I'll try asap.
Hello, I think this is a great opportunity you're offering us. I'll have to review it carefully and put together my own page. Thank you for this great work.
This looks like a great idea, sometimes you need to put up a single page website for something. Nice to have this option on the blockchain.
I can see myself playing around with this in the not-too-distant future. Thanks for putting this together. I am sure it will be very helpful to a lot of people on Hive.
Hive is getting a lot more exciting with projects like this. I'll surely try it out.
I am gonna try it out
Site not found, may be have a real one.
I'm trying to get kesolink to make one... hahaha but yeah. Make yours, and i'll edit this page with your link.
Good morning. This is wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
I don't know how it works. I went to the page link, but it says site not found. I guess it is under maintenance.
go here: https://myownpage.snapie.io
and make your own
I love this, thank you for sharing 😊
I started tinkering around, so I took a few screenshots as I did it and wrote a post giving my first impressions. Suffice to say I like it, a lot 😁
I must admit I did end up making a few more suggestions/observations to add you your already huge workload.....
