Experience As An Usher

Hello everyone and welcome to my space. It happens that me and my friend, we were discussing about the his side hustle which is an ushering work he's doing and I told him I was interested in joining the work and asked him if he will help me and talk to his boss which he did and I was invited to join their group chat which the boss opened because there were other newbies like me who joined for the first time and he passed information to us that we have two upcoming events at hand and that we'll be having physical meeting to discuss about the event.

        Meeting

So we came for the meeting and he" the boss" showed us how the work is done, he also demonstrated how we would welcome the visitors with a smiling face to their seat. He divided us into two groups because we were having two events on the same day at different locations. Concluding the meeting, he ask us to look our best to look and smell nice and to appear in white shirt black trouser and sneaker.

      The Event

Its was day for the event, I prepared myself, my friend came to my house to pick me and we went for the event and arrived at the event center, waiting for our boss and other colleagues to arrive. We came early. The event hall was so beautiful, it was decorated with beautiful flowers. The event planner really tried alot. Few minutes later people and some of my colleague started coming and our boss also came. The wedding started and were placed in different position to work. At first I was so in scared and afraid because i was not used to standing in crowded places. I get intense wherever I'm in a new environment. The event started and we were welcoming visitors and ushering them to their seats. I and some colleagues were in-charge of handling the chairman's table. As the wedding continued, the tension that was inside me left, I was no longer in tense. I felt free and started enjoying the view as the groom and bride danced to the DJ music. Few minutes later the atmosphere of the event changed, and the MC made an announcement that the governor of the state just arrived at the occasion. He came spoke a little and called for the bride and groom privately. What he told them, nobody knows. After he had spoke to them, he left. The occasion continued, Family and friends start spraying money on the bride and groom, people were dancing and celebrating. The DJ really charged the atmosphere of the event. He is one of the best DJ in Nasarawa State. The wedding was super cool and awesome, it was one of the best wedding I've ever attended, everything was well organized.

After the occasion, It was getting late so our boss asked us to prepare, it time for us to close from work and that he will be taking us home. I had a lot of fun getting to know and meet a lot of people and also experiences one of the best wedding in town because the governor also was invited to the wedding.

This was the first time I'm experiencing ushering work and I was privileged to see the governor. Though he didn't stayed long till the end of the event due to the nature of his work but it's a privilege for me...
