I'm not gonna lie, friends. I have always been a bit of a skeptic when it comes to New Year's resolutions. I mean, how many of us have made so many promises to ourselves on January 1st, only to forget all about them by February 1st? I've actually been there... And I know how it feels
But this year, something felt different. Maybe it was because I turned another year older π, or maybe it was the realization that I'm not getting any younger π Whatever the reason, I decided to make a resolution that would really challenge me.
My resolution was to read 50 books in 12 months. Yep, you read that right. 50 books. In one year. I know, I know, it sounds crazy.π But hear me out.
As someone who loves reading, I've always loved getting lost in a good book. But over the past few years, I've found myself getting so busy and busier, and my reading habit has suffered as a result. So, I decided to make an effort to prioritize reading this year.
Now, I know what you're thinking. "How am I possibly going to read 50 books in one year?"π Well, let me tell you, it's not easy. I've had to get creative with my reading schedule, squeezing in pages during my daily commute, lunch breaks, and even while brushing my teeth (don't judge me, it's all about multitasking, right?).π€π
But despite the challenges, I'm determined to make it happen. And you know what? It's been a wild ride so far.
I have read books that have made me laugh, cry, and even question my own sanity (in a good way). And I've discovered new authors, genres, and topics that I never thought I would be interested in. And I have even made some amazing friends along the way...ππ
Of course, there have been times when I usually feel like giving up. When the books get boring, or the words start to blur together, or when life just gets in the way. But every time I feel like throwing in the towel, I remind myself why I started this resolution in the first place.π
I want to challenge myself to be a better reader, a better thinker, and a better person. I want to explore new worlds, meet new people, and learn new things. And I want to prove to myself that I can do it.
So, how am I coping with my resolution? Well... There have been ups and downs, twists and turns, and moments of pure joy and excitement. But despite everything, I've learned that the journey is just as important as the destination.β
π
And that's something that I think we can all learn from. Whether you're trying to read 50 books in a year, or run a marathon, or learn a new language, the journey is just as important as the destination.
So, don't give up on your resolutions just yet. Just keep pushing forward, even when it gets tough. Because the truth is, the journey is where the magic happens. And who knows, you might just surprise yourself with what you're capable of.ππ
