When we talk about Hive Blockchain, the first thing that comes to mind is the financial benefits. And truly, Hive is a great platform that generates rewards through posting content. But today, away from the financial benefits, I have personally learned and gained a lot from Hive, which is what I am going to be discussing below.
In terms of being able to use any topic and draft content from it, Hive has really helped. Back then, it was a bit difficult for me to do fiction writing and also tell stories, but Hive has taught me that, and gradually I am learning and enjoying it. It expands my scope and makes me think widely. I remember a day I saw a topic in one of the communities on this platform. The topic was a bit tricky and confusing, but I really wanted to write about it. All I could do was think deeply about the topic, and I was able to come up with something.
Hive Blockchain has given me the opportunity to meet like-minded people, especially in my area of specialization, which is education. I have learned from them and also have a platform to share my ideas and opinions about certain issues in the field. Beyond that, Hive has taught me to always see and understand things from others’ points of view. When a topic is given in some communities to be written on, you will see people tackling that same topic differently and still making sense. This gives you the opportunity to learn from them as well. Also, when you write and present your point from your own perspective, people engage with it and drop their views, ask you questions, and make the discussion fun and insightful. I remember one topic I wrote about, and the interaction with @emreal was so insightful.
Furthermore, music communities like @Afri-tunes and vibes have helped shape our understanding and performance. Going through people's entries motivates you to learn and do more. I remember, as a learner of some musical instruments, there was a time I would go up to a month without touching any instrument for personal practice. But with the help of some communities on Hive, I now rehearse every week so as to improve my performance before dropping my entry.
Also, before Hive, I barely understood how blockchain works. But today, I can at least explain some things about it and tell someone that it is a necessary skill for this 21st century.
In everything we do in life, consistency is one of the keys to success. Hive has also taught me how to be consistent in what I do. On the blockchain, you need to write consistently, comment, and grow your blog. Consistently doing all this has helped in personal branding and digital marketing. Through Hive, I have picked up practical lessons in branding, marketing, and digital storytelling, all of which I now apply outside Hive as well.
So yes, I will say that Hive has paid me, not just financially, but in many other ways that are also valuable, especially if you are open to learning.
