Hi HIVERS! sorry for being a bit late in posting a video but don't worry because this time .. i'll introduce you to the three BIG GENTLE GIANTS called Whalesharks 🐋

This is my third time in OSLOB - (Brgy Tan-awan in Oslob, Cebu is where you can find them)

The first time i came to Oslob was with my auntie's friend, around 2015 & the water in oslob during that time was clear and it was so peaceful.

The second time i went was with my friend, in 2017. We went to the area where the whaleshark stays when they feed them with little SHRIMPS! 🦐 called UYAP, in bisaya/cebuano dialect.

But then, I'm distracted by the smell of the water coz it stinks! The smell came from the little shirmps that has been in stock for some time and also from the oil coming from the shrimps that stays in the water.

Anyway i do like whalesharks but the way they treated them here is actually not good. The people who always feed them will cause them to forget how to hunt their own food and also, the whalesharks always stay on that area-- every morning until noon time & then they leave around 1pm and THEN comeback again at 5am.. it's like a routine and i just feel like they have been in prison by this routine for years. At the same time, the government can't do anything because the residents of Oslob mainly are earning money from this "tourism" activity so unfortunately all I can also do is just to watch them feed. 😌

I just hope someday something can be done to improve this tourism situation that would benefit both the people of Oslob and most importantly the whalesharks as well.

Anyway that's it for now, thank you for dropping by & once again this is Christian AKA TAKMOL wishing you to always be safe and God bless us all.

Woow look at these magnificent creatures. Gente giants indeed. I didn´t realize though that people are disrupting their natural feeding patterns by this activity, thanks for bringing up this issue.

@tipu curate

Thank you sir @phortun 😊 I'm always worried about this Gentle Giants, and also some parts of their skin had been damage 🥺 and their mouth always bumping on the small boats 🥺

Really? That sounds bad! Do we know what causes the skin damage?

So cool to swim with them! Their tails look like mermaids :D

Yes it does but sometimes it scares other people 😂
