My first modeling of an organic furniture for Living Room / English AND Spanish

Hello everyone, I am going back to continue contributing my grain of sand with this new post, voting and reblogging the posts that seem most interesting to me, whether at the content or topic level. Part of the growth and humility of this is to remember the past, and for that reason I want to make my post public:

Design of furniture for living room

Before getting into the topic ... You know, before a friend gave me a number of fundamental tips on the rendering topic and many other tutorials that I saw for rendering in Vray, I had made these renderings of a modeling of furniture and a variety of sketchup components that I added to give the scene context. Currently I see these renderings and I remember that it took a lot of work in photoshop, due to light errors, and regarding the materials and lighting it does not have even the 50% level that I have right now, but despite that, I see that the furniture design is still singular and with a certain innovative eye. That's why I mentioned remembering the past and seeing where you have walked and how you have grown. It is interesting I recommend that introspection view.

Concept

For this furniture proposal, I wanted to do something functional, decorative and in a certain sculptural way in an organic way, surrounding the central point that would be a TV. Seeing the amount of furniture that is completely orthogonal every day, it motivated me to try an experimentation that what it would be like if I broke that scheme. As you will see in the design, I played with the proportions to generate an asymmetrical composition of the design, with storage spaces of different proportions, others open and others closed.

In this type of furniture that is support for the TV, we must not forget to give it a storage space for movies, DVD, Playstation, among other devices that could be used with the TV. Currently, if I updated this design, I would add more horizontal sections to put more of my books and I would add a glass as a cover for the holes and continue to see the compositional game. I would also remove or analyze how to make the element that I created as an enclosure different and more attractive to delimit the space of flagstones that surrounds the TV.

Now, here I need and ask your opinion and so participate in my post as well. The proposed material is wood of approximately 3cm, but to generate these arches in the curves, is it possible? Or also the question I want to ask you is, what other light and light material would you use to mold all this sculptural furniture!

End of my post today, I try to improve in each one and manage to explain in a simple, complete way and what else can look like in my post. Greetings to everybody and thanks!

Hello @feiderman, your personal style is emerging in your designs. For the curves, unless you have large molds set up which is quite expensive that big furniture manufacturers have. I would probably choose the kerf bending method for this using softwood or plywood if you're not going to place heavy objects. Otherwise, glued laminated wood?

Oh! Thank you very much for the answer, I will investigate about the methods you told me
