It is a pleasure and pride to be part of this community family. I get a lot of information and inspiration from various posts and content from friends around the world. This time, I want to share a story about the design and architecture that I visited some time ago.

Hugo Café

Some time ago, I became a speaker for a hydroponic training at one of the district offices where I live. The activity lasted almost all day, and left me feeling drained for the day. In the afternoon before my return home, I decided to stop by a café that was not far from the district office. The cafe is called Hugo Café with a building that doesn't stand out but catches my attention. What's interesting about this place? keep watching.

Hugo Café is located at Guru Patimpus Street no. 7 C Medan Barat District – Medan City. I will briefly describe the Guru Patimpus Street area to my friends here. The location of this café is very strategic, because it is in the center of Medan City. Not far from the location of the café, we will find a roundabout with a fountain which is often used as a gathering point for demonstrations. In addition, various vital objects such as government offices, banks, corporate offices are located around this area.

I came to Hugo Café in the afternoon. I had no trouble finding parking, because the afternoon is not the peak hour of this café. From the front of the café, we can see a billboard that reads Hugo Great Coffee and Great Food on the front of the building. This advertising box is a marker of this café building with the others.

The building on the front of this café uses a metallic blue color. I'm also confused, is this blue or gray, but the paint color chosen is very unique and different from other cafes I've visited. At the front there are also two seats for visitors who want to relax, smoke while observing this highway. From the front, Hugo Café seems to want to give its visitors an ambience of small and minimalist European-style cafes.

Interior Hugo Café

Hugo Café uses a shop house building. Store house building, is a vertical building that often functions as a place of business or shop. Shop houses, usually have a narrow and very limited room area. Usually, one room of the shop is 4-5 meters wide and 20-22 meters long. So, it takes a lot of creativity to maximize the potential of a narrow space like this.

When entering this café, we will immediately meet the cashier and coffee bar on the right side of this building (right from the entrance). This coffee bar is also not too big, very minimalist and maintains the white and blue color combination. I also saw some artificial flowers displayed around the bar.

As I thought, the space of this café isn't that big. However, Hugo Café can provide excellent interior decoration so that it gives us a spacious and spacious impression when inside. Even though the area is limited, the positions between the seats are arranged very neatly and still make the visitors comfortable.

Hugo Café uses two types of seating in this room. First on the left side using a seat with the concept of a bench attached to the wall. The bench was made extending from the front to the back of the room. The position of this wall bench is combined with wooden tables and chairs in the front.

On the right side of the building, the furniture chosen by this café is more formal. One table with four chairs is an alternative seating option. These two different seating concepts make the Hugo Café room look less monotonous, even though the area is narrow and limited.

Walk a little to the back of this cafe. We will see that the toilet and kitchen area are very well combined. Especially the door to the room leading to the kitchen. The aas part of the door uses a semicircular architecture plus a square glass accent wall. Very beautiful and aesthetic for this place.

Quotes

Apart from that, I noticed that there is one thing that is unique about this café. Hugo Café utilizes the walls of the room to place displays and also some inspirational quotes. One of my favorite quotes on the wall is “The Best Memories around The Table”. It reminds me that a lot of my fondest and best memories are around the table. Yup, of course it's about food.

The accessories that are displayed on the walls of this café are also very diverse. We can see, flower pots, unique ornaments, and also books. This concept gives a beautiful impression to the visitors who come. Of course, this can be an interesting and inspiring idea for friends to decorate a narrow room.

IMG_7875.jpeg

One thing my conclusion about Hugo Café. I noticed the way this café combines various colors of furniture, floors, roofs and various other ornaments that are very coherent and beautiful. I feel that there is not a single color that doesn't fit, all complement each other.

That's all the story I can tell this time, see you next time.

Always an enormous pleasure to host your remarkable content dear @isdarmady. Keep up the positive vibes! 😀

This is a fascinating cafe @isdarmady! Despite having an allocated floor area that's quite limited and narrow, they have managed to create a visually conducive space due to the well-selected furniture, decors, and small details, inviting interest from customers. Also, their radical choice of grayish blue paint has made their establishment stand out due to its uncommon yet appealing color. And I agree that all the elements used complement instead of compete with each other. 👍😊

Hello @storiesoferne
Thank you for visiting my content. I'm always waiting for a response and positive feedback and also constructive criticism from you.
Ternayta, you also noticed this radical gray paint color. This paint color makes the difference stand out from this building. Other than that, I feel for one cafe with a small building. Hugo Cafe has a wider impression than its real form.
