A delicious trip to Southeast Asia in the climatic interiors of a Thai-Vietnamese restaurant 🇹🇭 🇻🇳 / Odkrywam smaki dalekiego Wschodu w "Wi-taj"

After entering this restaurant, my attention was drawn to a black and white wall with cool illustrations of Asian dishes - pad thai, bun bo nam bo, goi cuon, or the famous Chinese celery cabbage - pak choi. The drawings, painted in a modern, somewhat cartoonish line, encouraged me to stay here and order some delicious South Asian food.

Po wejściu do tej restauracji moją uwagę przyciągnęła czarno-biała ściana z fajnymi ilustracjami azjatyckim potraw - pad thaia, bun bo nam bo, goi cuon, czy słynnej kapusty chińskiej pak choi. Rysunki namalowane nowoczesną, jakby nieco komiksową kreską zachęcały, żeby zostać w tym miejscu i zamówić jakiś pyszny południowo-azjatycki posiłek.

As usual, I chose a seat in a somewhat secluded part, at the end of the room. Fortunately, the large table next to me was reserved and was not occupied during my stay in the restaurant, so I felt very comfortable. Previously, when I was in another Asian restaurant "Thaisty" there were a lot of people and both on the left and right, someone was sitting near me, which I didn't like. This time, while waiting for the ordered dish, I could take a look at the interestingly decorated interior of the restaurant.

Jak zwykle wybrałam sobie miejsce w nieco odludnej części, na końcu sali. Na szczęście duży stolik obok mnie był zarezerwowany i nikt go nie zajął w trakcie mojego pobytu w restauracji, więc czułam się bardzo komfortowo. Poprzednio, gdy przebywałam w innej azjatyckiej restauracji "Thaisty" było bardzo dużo ludzi i zarówno po lewej, jak i prawej stronie, niedaleko mnie ktoś siedział, co niezbyt mi się podobało. Tym razem, czekając na zamówioną potrawę mogłam się przyjrzeć ciekawie urządzonemu wnętrzu restauracji.

I liked the braided bamboo lamps. They looked very natural, and the light penetrated through the openwork part of the lamp and it was not too strong. I once wanted to buy such a lamp for my home and maybe someday I will. Such lamps remind me of travel, nature, boho style.

Spodobały mi się plecione bambusowe lampy. Wyglądały bardzo naturalnie, a światło przenikało przez ażurową część lampy i nie było zbyt mocne. Kiedyś chciałam sobie kupić taką lampę do domu i może kiedyś to zrobię. Takie lampy kojarzą mi się z podróżami, naturą, stylem boho.

Uroku restauracji dodawały liczne elementy roślinne przypominające suszone kwiaty i trawy. Były to duże kompozycje roślinne. Znajdowały się one w kilku miejscach w restauracji. Ta dekoracja tuż obok mnie była bardzo wysoka - od ziemi do sufitu.

Numerous plant elements, looking like dried flowers and grass, added to the charm of the restaurant. They were large plant compositions. They were located in several places in the restaurant. This decoration right next to me was very high - from the ground to the ceiling.

However, in another part of the restaurant, which I discovered while going to the bathroom, there were huge flags of Thailand and Vietnam. In addition, graphics of various dishes characteristic of this region were painted on the map.

Za to w innej części restauracji fajnie zdobiły ścianę kolorowe flagi Wietnamu i Tajlandii z zaznaczonymi na niej potrawami. Były one namalowane za pomocą charakterystycznych kreskówkowych grafik, takich jak na innej ścianie w restauracji.

However, in another part of the restaurant, which I discovered when going to the toilet there, there were huge flags of Thailand and Vietnam. In addition, the map was painted with graphics of various dishes characteristic of this region.

Za to w innej części restauracji, którą odkryłam idąc tam do toalety znajdowały się ogromne flagi Tajlandii i Wietnamu. Poza tym na mapie namalowane były grafiki różnych potraw charakterystycznych dla tego rejonu.

The wait for my meal passed quickly. Soon I received the ordered pad thai, spring rolls and lemonade. The dishes were served on beautiful, colorful ceramic plates.

Czekanie na posiłek szybko mi zleciało. Wkrótce otrzymałam zamówionego pad thaia, spring rollsy i lemoniadę. Dania były podane na pięknych, kolorowych ceramicznych talerzach.

As the main course I chose vegetarian pad thai with tofu. It is a sure choice in Thai cuisine for me. A very filling dish, with a simple composition, but with interesting additions, such as tamarind sauce.

Jako danie główne wybrałam pad thaia w wersji wegetariańskiej, z tofu. To dla mnie pewniak w tajskiej kuchni. Danie bardzo sycące, o prostym składzie, ale z ciekawymi dla mnie dodatkami, jak na przykład sos tamaryndowy.

Another of the dishes I ordered was goi cuon tom - spring rolls with shrimps, mango, rice noodles, kohlrabi, carrots and coriander. They were served on a bamboo plate, on a leaf of lettuce, with an exotic sauce. They were very tasty, delicate, perfect for an appetizer.

Innym z dań, które zamówiłam było goi cuon tom - spring rollsy z dodatkiem krewetek, mango, ryżowego makaronu, kalarepy, marchewki i kolendry. Podano je na bambusowym talerzyku, na liściu sałaty, z egzotycznym sosem. Były bardzo smaczne, delikatne, idealne na przystawkę.

When I entered the restaurant, almost all the seats were taken. Fortunately, after a while, a lot of people came out and it got more spacious. In the picture below, you can see my place at the end of the room - a corner settee covered with black leather. It was more comfortable to sit there than on wooden chairs.

Gdy weszłam do restauracji prawie wszystkie miejsca były zajęte. Na szczęście po jakimś czasie wyszło sporo osób i zrobiło się przestronniej. Na zdjęciu poniżej możecie zobaczyć moje miejsce na końcu sali - narożnik obity czarną skórą. Wygodniej się tam siedziało niż na drewnianych krzesłach.

You can see that the person who was responsible for the interior design of the restaurant also designed the menu. We will find similar graphics here as on the restaurant wall. The card is black and white, tasteful, elegant, well written. Peppers are added to the names of the dishes to indicate the spiciness of the dish. Traditionally, I chose the mild ones, although the pad thai was accompanied by a lot of chili flakes, so if someone wanted more spicy flavors, they could sprinkle the dish with chili flakes.

Widać, że osoba, która zajmowała się designem wnętrza restauracji zaprojektowała też kartę dań. Znajdziemy tu podobne grafiki jak na ścianie restauracji. Karta jest czarno-biała, gustowna, elegancka, dobrze opisana. Przy nazwach dań zamieszczono papryczki, żeby wskazać na ostrość dania. Ja tradycyjnie wybrałam te łagodne, choć do pad thaia dołączone było sporo płatków chili, więc gdyby ktoś miał ochotę na bardziej pikantne smaki, mógł posypać danie płatkami chili.
