The charm of the Nurul Ilmi Small Mosque on the border of West Sumatra.

Long journeys still leave behind many stories, experiences and many places that we stop at, especially when we go to a destination we do it independently and don't join any travel company so that the places we go to will increase, and it could be the places The place we went to was not on our itinerary list and was discovered accidentally while traveling to our destination city, like this small building which is a mosque. I found this mosque by accident while traveling to West Sumatra with my husband and when I saw this building this mosque was very unique and its size was very small, not as big as the mosques I had visited.

If you look at the front of the mosque, the yard is much wider than the mosque building itself and where I am currently standing, there are still a few more meters ahead to get to the exit gate of the mosque. After I observed it, it turned out that this mosque was a place for middle-class traders to sell and was open from afternoon to evening. So this parking area has been made spacious so that visitors don't have difficulty parking their vehicles later.

Of all the designs of the Nurul ILMi mosque, I really like the roof design, as if the roof is the shape of a goldfish that has just come out of the water and wants to find oxygen, the color is almost the same, namely yellow and then it looks like there is a scale design on the roof so it's natural If I say that the dome of this mosque looks like a goldfish, my husband says that the dome of this mosque is shaped like a pineapple. Whatever it is, until now I don't know the exact answer to what shape the dome is. Even though the dome is very nice, I was a little disturbed by the pillar-like design which was right in the middle of the mosque readings and towered upwards like a nuisance in a relationship..ha..ha. and not only that, at the top right and left of the mosque there is a wing-like design, and apparently it is intended for gutting water when it rains.

Still with the exterior design of the mosque, at the front there are also 4 layered arches with flower carvings painted white, even though it has a simple design, the presence of this arch design is very useful for making the decoration of this mosque look more elegant and prettier, not just the arches. That's all, the presence of a sturdy door design with a classic brown Arabic design makes this small mosque look a little majestic and deserves to be praised that this small building is indeed beautiful and cute. Not far from the entrance there are stairs to the second floor

Still with the exterior design of the mosque, now I move on to the shape of the ceiling. The form of the ceiling used is a white gypsum type designed with several overlapping pools to emphasize the spacious and elegant impression of the building and after being satisfied with seeing the outside of the mosque, now I will show you the inside of the mosque. The interior of this mosque is very simple without many accessories attached to the walls and windows. The accessories in the interior design of the mosque are the pulpit arch which is designed simply but made with paint that contrasts with the white color of the mosque, so the gold color is made. around the arch of the pulpit becomes more lively and the carpet that is laid also seems very simple, making the building inside the mosque much more spacious.

So, no matter how small a building, if it is decorated with the right design, it will make the building have a spacious impression as a whole. What do you think? This is the end of my explanation about this small mosque and greetings from Maytom, Indonesia
