To the image of the great tree - present in ancient cultures, and which survives in our time - is necessarily linked, deriving from it, the image of the shadows. Under its shelter other plants grow, animals of different species survive, lovers frolic, and even poetry makes its home in its calm and silence.

Walking through one of the parks of my city (Cumaná, Venezuela), the Guaiquerí Park, I took these photos that I offer you today, which want to capture the lightness and freshness of the shadows, as a return to them, being one of the figures and words that I love the most (my first published poetry book was entitled Breviary of shadows).

A la sombra del gran árbol

A la imagen del gran árbol –presente en las culturas antiguas, y que pervive en nuestro tiempo– está necesariamente ligada, derivándose de ella, la imagen de las sombras. Bajo su refugio crecen otras plantas, animales de diferente especie sobreviven, retozan los enamorados, y hasta hace su albergue la poesía en su calma y silencio.

Paseando por uno de los parques de mi ciudad (Cumaná, Venezuela), el Parque Guaiquerí, hice estas fotos que hoy les ofrezco, que quieren captar la levedad y frescura de las sombras, como una vuelta a ellas, siendo una de las figuras y palabras que más quiero (mi primer poemario publicado se tituló Breviario de sombras).
