Reflections from Where the River Meets the Sea

Since I am on a day off yesterday, I went to the beach early in the morning to have a breath of fresh sea air to sooth my airways and to have some sort of reliving my reflection hunting skills.

I chose Quirino Surfing Site as my staging spot as it is the nearest beach from my place and it is about twelve minutes walk from my place and I arrived right on time as the soft tone of the early morning light still lingers in the horizon as the sun tries to free itself from the clouds.

I kept on walking and scanning the landscape for possible subjects. I saw the excavator parked across the river mouth but I cannot go near to it so I looked for another things that casted their reflection on the surface of the water. Then I saw these clouds settled over the sea and I was amazed by the reflection they casted on the water of the river which still not disturbed by the wind.

I pointed my phone to the leftmost direction to take a picture at the other end of the cloud formation.

It is at this time that I realized that I can also set my phone to have the whole details of the cloud taken by adjusting the aspect ratio of my phone from 4:3 to full size.

After taking a few clicks at the clouds, I shifted my attention to the river mouth and was amazed by this reflection that reminds me of an item for a Rorschach test samples. The Rorschach test by the way, is a means used by psychologists to understand the personality, emotions, as well as to pinpoint psychological issues of a person by means of interpreting inkblots which are ambiguously printed on the test medium.

I also took a few clicks of the kiosks that serves as multi-purpose structure for surfers and visitors that visits the beach.

Then took a picture at the reflection of the trees as well as the rocks along the river bank.

As I look for other subjects, a dog walking along the sandy part of the river bank leading to the sea caught my attention and I hurriedly tool a photograph before it disappear from my focal point.

Another dog showed up and I don't hesitate to include it on the frame.

I once again shifted my subject to the river going upstream as the sun still shrouded by the clouds of which every detail of the action were captured by the water surface.

To end my reflection hunting, I took another shot of the kiosks as well as the stairway going to the beach of which the picture reveals a stunning view of the coastal landscape situated on a sandy beach. The clear water that is not yet touched by the blowing wind serves as a mirror, reflecting the myriad colors of the sky, lush greenery, the kiosks as well as the detail of the fence.
