When I was in front of this old medieval facade of my city, the time and the talk of the projection of the shadows on the stone began to speak to me. In a strange language, a mixture of all the civilizations that have passed through the city of Cáceres, Celts, Romans, Arabs, Christians, French and current tourists from all over the world mixing cultures and merging peoples. Those projected branches seemed to have their own language with a great influence from the Arab world that ruled this city for some centuries. Stories of Caliphs, Moorish princesses, cultures of poetry, science, economics, agriculture, astrology, medicine, philosophy and golden hens were being revealed to me with the movement of the branches.
Nature always provides very complex designs in its shadow drawings and depending on the angle from which one observes, fantastic natural drawings full of imagination can be found. Many times I compare and stop to observe them as if it were that game of the clouds where our heads look for what they think they see in their whimsical designs.

One of the issues that most fascinates me when looking for that image is the shadows, reflections and details that make the dimension of what I see and try to capture have that volume and sensation of a double inverse plane. What strikes me about looking for these types of images reminds me of my principles in analog photography, with those negatives and developed.

Then I look for the most geometric projections of the objects depending on the position of the sun and the design caused by the light hitting a solid surface. These types of images remind me of those old studies on shadow projections and the great philosopher Thales of Miletus. In a very remote past where the earth was thought to be flat, someone deduced that this was impossible due to the shadow and its projection. In a relatively short period of time and at different points in the north of the African continent, different stakes were measured throughout the day, the length of their shadows was changing. It was then concluded that only an oval or round surface could cause this effect. This is just a brushstroke of an old memory that I have had and that brings to my mind the image that I present to you, the banks.

@oscarps Sombras naturales y sombras artificiales

Those are some great shadows. The first one looks mystical.
