The Shadow Hunting or SMaSH (Show Me a Shadow) Contest is one of the oldest contests on the Hive Blockchain. It's been running for six years and regularly pays out rewards for awesome shadows. This week we are at number 317. If that's not a matter of trust then what is it?
Shadows are everywhere, outdoors or indoors, on a sunny day or even at night. Getting a great shadow is as easy as snapping a photo with your camera or mobile device.
Having trouble sharing photos of shadows you catch? Don't be shy, the Shadow Hunters community is the place for you to share. This is not a strict photo contest where judges look for framing, lighting, contrast, color, resolution, and so on.
You take a walk, you take pictures of shadows, you post them, and you get a reward. Every post is rewarded by the community! Have you seen this anywhere else? It's awesome!

What you're waiting for?
I just use my phone to take pictures, and I don't consider myself a good photographer. But shadows are everywhere. If you're up to the challenge, I'm sure you'll get a great one.
For example, here are some of my photos. I've been collecting these shadow photos for the last two weeks, and now they're here.
Atos, the legend
Well, this is my Boston Terrier, Atos. He's five and a half years old now, and most of the shadows and reflections I've taken have been on walks with him. But I've never managed to get a perfect shadow with him. Maybe now I've finally managed it, the public will decide.
As we were coming back from a walk, a friend I hadn't seen for a while stopped me and we chatted for a few minutes. As it was very sunny, the shade of the chair backs was distinctly spread across Atos. And of course, I had to catch it.
Shadows on the table
As I mentioned before, my friend and I chatted for a few minutes, Atos resting under the table, and the shadows of the juice glass and the teapot on the table. Not to complicate things too much, but in a few minutes, I had quite a few photos of shadows :)
Morning shadow in the room
The living room gets the most light in the morning when the sun shines directly through the window. When I raise the blinds, the shadow of the open window can be seen on the wall between the two paintings.
Shadows of the bush
As you can see, the bush has been pruned because it was spreading too much over the door of my grandmother's old house, there are no flowers (yet), but you can see the shadows of the branches spreading out on all sides on the wall, it was taken last week, in the late afternoon. It was very hot, even too hot for the beginning of April.
