Hace unos días publiqué mi primera reseña de un libro, y la verdad que me encantó hacerlo, así que aquí estamos de nuevo, ¡porque me encanta traerles los detalles de mis lecturas! El día de hoy estaré dando mi opinión sobre el primer libro que leí en la plataforma de Wattpad y la verdad sí tengo mucho que decir sobre él.

Sinopsis/Synopsis
Para Jenna Brown, su primer año en la Universidad suponía alejarse de su familia y sus amigos y enfrentarse al mundo por primera vez en su vida.

Fue éste libro el que finalmente me hizo comenzar a tener comezón e intriga por Wattpad. Lo veía en cada una de mis redes sociales, en las publicidades de las librerías del país donde vivo y mi cerebro dijo ¡YA BASTA, TENEMOS QUE LEERLO! Así que me descargué la plataforma y comencé a leer sin ningún tipo de expectativa.
La sinopsis se me hizo un poco simple, la verdad, sin embargo, contenía un elemento que me intrigaba: una fecha límite y se me hizo un poco interesante descubrir cómo se manejaría esta historia.
This is the book that finally made me start itching and intrigued by Wattpad. I saw it on every one of my social networks, in advertisements in bookstores in the country where I live and my brain said ENOUGH, WE HAVE TO READ IT! So I downloaded the platform and started reading without any kind of expectation.
The synopsis was a bit simple, to be honest, however, it contained an element that intrigued me: a deadline and I found it a bit interesting to discover how this story would be handled.
Narración y trama/ Narration and Plot
Personalmente siempre he creído que leer es placentero porque la historia te transporta, te lleva hasta el lugar donde está tu protagonista e incluso te dice de qué color era el cielo, cómo era el ambiente, qué tan fuerte era el olor de la comida o que tan brillante los colores. Eso es espléndido.
Pero con este libro me sentí atrapada en una caja. Mejor dicho, me sentí atrapada en el apartamento de Jack. Los escenarios de la historia se limitaban demasiado al apartamento de Jack y todo en cuanto ambiente se refiere se me hizo bastante monótono. Por supuesto que la historia se desarrolla en ese apartamento, allí es donde viven los personajes, pero todos son estudiantes universitarios y no conocimos la universidad, la cafetería, la biblioteca y rara vez sabíamos si llovía.
Sin embargo, la narración se me hizo divertida y ligera. Está contado desde la perspectiva de Jenna y me gusta la manera tan acertada que ella tiene para decirnos qué están pensando o sintiendo las personas a su alrededor.
I have always believed that reading is pleasurable because the story transports you, takes you to the place where your protagonist is, and even tells you what color the sky was, what the atmosphere was like, how strong the smell of the food was, or how bright the colors were. That's splendid.
But with this book, I felt trapped in a box. Rather, I felt trapped in Jack's apartment. The settings of the story were too confined to Jack's apartment and everything in terms of ambiance felt rather monotonous to me. Of course, the story takes place in that apartment, that's where the characters live, but they are all college students and we didn't know the university, the cafeteria, the library and we rarely knew if it was raining.
However, the narration felt fun and light to me. It's told from Jenna's perspective and I like the accurate way she has of telling us what the people around her are thinking or feeling.

Considerando las bajas expectativas con que estaba yo leyendo este libro no creí que fuera posible, pero el suelo retumbó cuando conocí este personaje. ¡QUÉ HERMOSO! Un personaje creíble, con pasado, con historia familiar, con conflictos, con ambiciones, con propósito, hasta con hobbies que disfrutaba con nosotros los lectores. Sin mencionar otros atributos maravillosos de este personaje como su valor por la amistad, su tremenda generosidad y su sentido del humor.
Considering the low expectations I was reading this book with I didn't think it was possible, but the ground rumbled when I met this character. how BEAUTIFUL! A believable character, with a past, with family history, with conflicts, with ambitions, with purpose, even with hobbies that he enjoyed with us readers. Not to mention other wonderful attributes of this character such as his value for friendship, his tremendous generosity, and his sense of humor.
Jack, te amo ❤️ Jack, I love you
Jack me parece un personaje fuerte y decidido porque su historia nos deja ver por todo lo que ha atravesado y la manera en que decidió cambiar su vida para mejor. Me encanta.
Jack strikes me as a strong and determined character because his story lets us see everything he's been through and the way he decided to change his life for the better. I love it.

Realmente no estaba esperando nada de esta historia cuando decidí leerla y creo que eso fue lo que recibí. Sin embargo, algunas pequeñas cosas me mantenían leyendo, principalmente la llegada del mes de diciembre en la historia. Este libro es parte de una trilogía llamada Meses a tu lado ¿Leeré los demás? No lo sé a ciencia cierta, sobre todo por los primeros capítulos del segundo que no me gustaron para nada. Aun así, no diré que no lo haría porque nunca se sabe con los libros, a veces te pueden sorprender.
Si estás buscando una historia enfocada mayormente en el amor, que toque temas de abuso, con una relación sana entre los protagonistas y con un increíble personaje del cual enamorarte, como lo es Jack, entonces te gustará leer Antes de Diciembre de Joana Marcus.
I wasn't expecting anything from this story when I decided to read it and I think that's what I got. However, a few little things kept me reading, mainly the arrival of December in the story. This book is part of a trilogy called Months by Your Side Will I read the others? I don't know for sure, mostly because of the first few chapters of the second one that I didn't like at all. Still, I won't say I wouldn't because you never know with books, sometimes they can surprise you.
If you are looking for a story focused mostly on love, that touches on abuse issues, with a healthy relationship between the main characters, and with an amazing character to fall in love with, as Jack is, then you will like to read Before December by Joana Marcus.
