Luego de haber leído "It ends with us" no podía quedarme sin leer su secuela que lleva por nombre "It starts with us", está empieza justo donde nos dejó la anterior historia, nuestros protagonistas están recientemente divorciados y están aprendiendo a lidiar con el tema de ser padres primerizos y compartir la custodia de su hija y es aquí cuando Atlas, el primer amor de Lily, vuelve a su vida.

Estos libros de Colleen Hoover de verdad me tienen gratamente sorprendida porque como ya dije en una ocasión anterior no son novelas rosa donde todos son felices sino son historias bastante reales. La temática abarcada en esta historia es el cómo salir de una situación abusiva, ya con "It starts with us" sabemos que Lily decidió terminar este ciclo pidiéndole el divorcio a Ryle, pero ya que tienen una hija en común ella simplemente no puede cortar con él y seguir con su vida y es donde entra en conflicto que tanto está dispuesta a ceder de si para tener contento a Atlas, aquí es donde el libro nos muestra algo importantisimo para todos los seres humanos: aprender a poner límites. Paralelo a esto se va desarrollando la nueva historia de amor de Lily y Atlas, que tiene que afrontar los problemas de toda relación de adultos, responsabilidades, horarios de trabajo distintos y prioridades distintas pero que nos muestra que es el amor maduro y sano, que respeta y nos impulsa a ser mejores.

Por otro lado tenemos una historia paralela, donde Atlas conoce su hermanastro que es un adolescente que también pasó por la misma situación de maltrato en manos de su madre y que nos muestra otro tipo de redención, orientandonos al perdón y a tratar de ver el vaso medio lleno en situaciones no tan buenas.

Con respecto a la redacción y a la estructura de las cosas creo que sí hay una mejoría bastante grande con respecto a lo que fue "It ends with us" que fue escrita en 2016, y este que es de 2022, se puede ver claramente la evolución de la autora. Este libro me gustó mucho más que su precuela, recomiendo leerlo le doy 4/5

After having read "It ends with us" I could not stay without reading its sequel called "It starts with us", it starts right where the previous story left off, our protagonists are recently divorced and are learning to deal with the issue of being first time parents and sharing custody of their daughter and it is here when Atlas, Lily's first love, comes back into her life.

These books by Colleen Hoover really have me pleasantly surprised because as I said on a previous occasion they are not rose novels where everyone is happy but they are quite real stories. The theme covered in this story is how to get out of an abusive situation, already with "It starts with us" we know that Lily decided to end this cycle by asking Ryle for a divorce, but since they have a daughter in common she simply can not break up with him and move on with her life and this is where it comes into conflict how much she is willing to give of herself to keep Atlas happy, this is where the book shows us something very important for all human beings: learning to set limits. Parallel to this is the new love story of Lily and Atlas, which has to face the problems of any adult relationship, responsibilities, different work schedules and different priorities but that shows us that it is mature and healthy love, which respects and encourages us to be better.

On the other hand we have a parallel story, where Atlas meets his stepbrother who is a teenager who also went through the same situation of abuse at the hands of his mother and shows us another type of redemption, guiding us to forgiveness and trying to see the glass half full in not so good situations.

With respect to the writing and the structure of things I think there is indeed a pretty big improvement with respect to what was "It ends with us" which was written in 2016, and this one which is from 2022, you can clearly see the evolution of the author. I liked this book much more than its prequel, I recommend reading it I give it 4/5.
