When I read "The Love Hypothesis" I fell in love with Ali Hazelwood's way of writing, especially for that way of mixing science with romance and the spark that results from all this, so naturally and a little influenced by what is "booktok" I had to read "Love on the brain" and I was in the same way, quite satisfied.

The premise of this story is a bit similar to that of "The Spanish love deception", an enemies to lovers, which turns out to be enemies for only one side of the two involved, as one of the two was always in love with the other and that is why he has had this kind of strange behavior with the other.

For me the hook of the novel was that the protagonist is obsessed with Marie Curie and throughout the novel she compares situations of her life with that of the scientist and tries to think what she would do to deal with them. The novel also reflects a bit on the disparity and discrimination suffered by women in the sciences, which is why our protagonist has a Twitter account @whatwouldmariedo (what would Marie do) to denounce this and empower women. Another thing I really liked is that our protagonist is not the typical blonde or brunette, but she is a girl who experiments with colors in her hair and has piercings and tattoos. Also, our girl has some issues with commitment due to situations she has had in the past.

On the other side we have Levi, a handsome engineer who is everything a woman would want: good with children, excellent at what he does, a very good cook, an animal lover and a host of other virtues but unable to show his feelings openly for Bee, due to his hard upbringing.

In the end our protagonists manage to mend their differences and this gives way to "happily ever after". As I mentioned at the beginning, Ali Hazelwood's way of mixing science and romance and introducing us to some super geeky and intelligent characters is very entertaining.

I liked the story quite a lot, although I think "The Love Hypothesis" is better, however, I recommend reading it, I give it 3.5/5.

Cuando leí "La hipótesis del amor" quedé enamorada de la forma de escribir de Ali Hazelwood, sobretodo por esa manera de mezclar las ciencias con el romanticismo y la chispa que resulta de todo esto, así que naturalmente y un poco influenciada por lo que es "booktok" tenía que leer "Love on the brain" y quedé de la misma manera, bastante satisfecha.

La premisa de esta historia se parece un poco a la de "The spanish love deception", un enemies to lovers, que resulta ser enemigos para una sola parte de los involucrados, pues uno de los dos siempre estuvo enamorado del otro y es por esto mismo que ha tenido esta clase de comportamientos extraños con el otro.

Para mí el gancho de la novela estuvo en que la protagonista está obsesionada con Marie Curie y a lo largo de la novela va comparando situaciones de su vida con la de la científica y tratando pensar que haría ella para lidiar con las mismas. La novela tambien reflexiona un poco de la disparidad y la discriminación que sufren mujeres en las ciencias, es por esto que nuestra protagonista tiene una cuenta de Twitter @whatwouldmariedo (que haría Marie) para denunciar esto y empoderar a las mujeres. Otra cosa que me gustó mucho es que nuestra protagonista no es la típica rubia o castaña, sino es una chica que experimenta con colores en su cabello y tiene piercings y tatuajes. Asimismo, nuestra chica tiene algunos problemas con el compromiso debido a situaciones que ha tenido en el pasado.

Por la otra parte tenemos a Levi, un apuesto ingeniero que es todo lo que una mujer querría: bueno con los niños, excelente en lo que hace, muy buen cocinero, animalista y un sin fin más de virtudes pero incapaz de demostrar sus sentimientos abiertamente por Bee, debido a su dura crianza.

Al final nuestros protagonistas lograr enmendar sus diferencias y esto da paso para "felices por siempre". Como les indicaba al principio, la forma de Ali Hazelwood de mezclar las ciencias y con el romance y presentarnos unos personajes super geeks e inteligentisimos es muy entretenido.

La historia me gustó bastante, aunque me parece mejor "La hipótesis del amor", sin embargo, recomiendo leerla le doy 3.5/5
