¡Hola amigos lectores! Espero que estén teniendo muy buenas lecturas. Hoy me pasó por acá para compartir mi opinión sobre el tercer y último libro de la saga Ciudad Medialuna de la autora Sarah J. Maas, llamado Casa de Flama y Sombra.
Hello fellow readers! I hope you are having great reads. I stopped by today to share my thoughts on the third and final book in the Crescent City serie by author Sarah J. Maas, called House of Flame and Shadow.
Tras lo sucedió en la Ciudad Eterna, la fortaleza donde viven los Asteri, estos parásitos intergalácticos chupadores de energía, Bryce Quinlan abre un portal que la lleva hacía el mundo original de las hadas donde conocerá al Alto Lord de la corte noche y a Nesta y Azriel que la acompañarán a descubrir secretos que la ayuden a eliminar a los Asteri de su mundo. Los que me conocen por acá sabrán que soy una gran fan de la escritura y los libros de esta autora. Leí todas sus sagas y esta era una continuación muy esperada por mí. Amo el mundo de Ciudad Medialuna porque es una mezcla de seres mágicos y los ves coexistir y relacionándose entre sí, hadas con ángeles, mer con hadas, hadas con metamorfos, brujas con ángeles y un gran etc. Además, hay elementos tanto de fantasía como ciencia ficción porque también se habla de tecnologías usadas con magia. La verdad es que es un universo bastante extenso y abarca varias tramas y tropes.
Those of you who know me around here will know that I am a big fan of this author's writing and books. I read all of her series and this was a long awaited sequel for me. I love the world of Crescent City because it is a mix of magical beings and you see them coexisting and interacting with each other, fairies with angels, mer with fairies, fairies with shape-shifters, witches with angels and a lot more. In addition, there are elements of both fantasy and science fiction because there is also talk of technologies used with magic. The truth is that it is quite an extensive universe and covers several plots and tropes.
Le tenía expectativa especial a este libro porque se venía el crossover entre esta saga y Una Corte de Rosas y Espinas, ya que Bryce Quinlan viaja por accidente al lugar donde se encuentra la Corte Noche al mando de mi amado Rhysand y compañía. Así que quería ver estas interacciones, sobre todo, la de Bryce con Nesta. Fue bastante power está unión.
I was especially looking forward to this book because of the crossover between this serie and A Court of Roses and Thorns, as Bryce Quinlan accidentally travels to the location of the Night Court under the command of my beloved Rhysand and company. So I wanted to see these interactions, especially Bryce's with Nesta. It was quite power this bonding.
Es un libro cargado de acción desde el inicio, podemos leer escenas muy fuertes en referencia a Hunt, Ruhn y Baxian que están como prisioneros en la fortaleza Asteri y son torturados hasta el cansancio. Leer sus escenas me partía el corazón, pero le aportaba drama y suspenso a esta historia.
It is an action packed book from the beginning, we can read very strong scenes in reference to Hunt, Ruhn and Baxian who are as prisoners in the Asteri fortress and are tortured to exhaustion. Reading their scenes broke my heart, but it brought drama and suspense to this story.
En un momento estaba saliendo todo tan bien que temía el desenlace fatal porque esta autora escribe para hacerte sufrir, sin embargo, quedé sorprendida de que la mayoría de los villanos obtuvieron su merecido. Me gustó cómo se resolvieron las cosas y lo que tienen estos libros es protagonistas femeninas muy fuertes que lo dan todo.
At one point it was going so well that I feared the fatal outcome because this author writes to make you suffer, however, I was surprised that most of the villains got what they deserved. I liked how things were resolved and what these books have is very strong female protagonists who give it their all.
Aunque debo decir que también quedé muy sorprendida porque yo pensé que este era el tercer libro y que habría otro, pero a medida que fui leyendo me di cuenta que era el final de esta historia y no lo podía creer porque siento que me falta otro libro. Igual les aseguro que habrá otro porque hay cosas que quedaron pendientes, historias que quedaron inconclusas y nos falta el libro de La casa de las muchas aguas y ahí justamente entran los personajes cuya historia quedó incompleta. Así que pienso que habrá otro libro que tendrá a Tharion, Ithan y los demás como protagonistas. Porque sí, la historia de Bryce y Hunt está terminada, ahora es momento de darle espacio a otros personajes.
Although I must say that I was also very surprised because I thought this was the third book and that there would be another one, but as I was reading I realized that it was the end of this story and I could not believe it because I feel that I am missing another book. I assure you that there will be another one because there are things that were left pending, stories that were left unfinished and we are missing the book of The House of Many Waters and that's where the characters whose story was incomplete come in. So I think there will be another book that will have Tharion, Ithan and the others as main characters. Because yes, Bryce and Hunt's story is finished, now it's time to give space to other characters.
Así que cuando supe esto me entró el pánico de que faltaba poco para terminar este libro y todo iba saliendo muy bien. Bueno, es para sospechar. No les haré spoiler, pero sin dudas deben leer esta historia.
So when I found this out I panicked that this book was just a short time away and everything was going very well. Well, that's to be suspicious. I won't give you spoilers, but you should definitely read this story.
Mis personajes favoritos en esta ocasión fueron Lidia y Ruhn, desde ya les aclaro que Ruhn es mi hombre, así que quedan avisados. En realidad me gustaron muchos personajes, varios se lucieron e hicieron su parte, además de tener su momento de redención. También hubo muchas sorpresas a lo largo de este libro que me dejaron con la boca abierta porque nunca me lo hubiera imaginado. Me encanta cuando me pasa esto con una lectura.
My favorite characters this time were Lidia and Ruhn, and I want to make it clear that Ruhn is my man, so be warned. I actually liked a lot of the characters, several of them showed off and did their part, as well as having their moment of redemption. There were also many surprises throughout this book that left me with my mouth open because I never would have guessed it. I love it when this happens to me with a read.
El final fue con mucha acción, tanto que te mantiene leyendo con el corazón en la boca y a nada de un ataque de nervios. También me resultó emotivo en algunas partes. En definitiva, sentí que fue un buen cierre para esta historia, pero no estoy para nada lista para dejarlos partir, así que espero leer más sobre todos estos personajes. Y ahora necesito el próximo libro de la saga Una Corte de Rosas y Espinas.
The ending was action-packed, so much so that it keeps you reading with your heart in your mouth and not a nervous breakdown away. I also found it emotional in parts. All in all, I felt it was a good closure to this story, but I'm not at all ready to let them go, so I look forward to reading more about all these characters. And now I need the next book in the A Court of Roses and Thorns serie.
