It was something that I’d hoped would be over so when I picked up this brilliant book by Nora Roberts to read(I’ll do a review on it in my next post), I thought to myself that reading Nora’s books is the best way to get out of my book-block once and for all. I want to believe that my reluctance in finishing stems from the pile of schoolwork I usually have to sort out, but I’m beginning to feel it’s not that since this is already the third day since opening the book and I’ve barely gone past the fifth chapter.

Good morning and Happy Black Friday! I hope your Turkey Day went well. I took the week off from writing to celebrate with my family, but I also spent much of my time early in the week (Monday and Tuesday, plus Wednesday morning) holding down a book table in a Kroger Marketplace store in Wylie, Texas. Not only did I manage to sell a few books, but I also had fun interacting with book readers.

There is a run down of the Star Wars Timeline.
I was brought up on the traditional Star Wars original trilogy.
In fact, when I went to see Star Wars it was rated, "NRC", Not Recommended for Children. But the cinema was full of children.

Why read? This is also something that was subtly discussed in the podcast that I think is important. Reading helps with writing, story-telling, information comprehension, and even with decision making. There are many benefits to it that often people don’t see it because they are not directly making them money or can be seen. Reflecting on my own personal experience, usually the books I am currently reading affect my writing style a lot, especially the tone. For example, one time I was really fascinated with Thompson and it had such an intriguing tone and writing style. It’s witty, engaging and sarcastic.

I personally loved this book, from the moment I started reading it I couldn't put it down until I finished it. This book shows that not everything is what it seems, what happened a long time ago has an explanation, besides this it also shows the difficult process of being a single mother when you have no resources or help of any kind, Lan was a single mother for many years and the only family she had turned her back and left her alone, because of this it took a hard process to get to where she got to, a stable and relatively happy life, because of this when Drake arrives after many years all the fears that were hidden inside her come to light and the worst question mark would be the future of her daughter, will Drake fight for full custody of Anna lise?

Recently, I have been trying to explore every genre there is in the fictional world and it has put me on a wild journey. Now, I am beginning to add more genres to my favorite list. A dark military romance series was recommended to me recently by a good friend from Goodreads. Since all her recommendations don't disappoint me, I immediately went ahead to start reading the series.’Zulu Team’ Series by Julie Weaver is a military romance that is fully packed with action scenes and less romance. Julie is a fantastic writer and unfortunately she has only written four books so far. I was little bit disappointed with that because I actually want to read her other books after my experience with this series.

What is Hive Book Club?

Hive Book Club is a community made by book lovers, for book lovers. A place where the chaotic minds of writers may punch away words from their keyboards as they share their writing adventures. Where passionate book collectors may rummage through their stacks of books to share and review their latest additions. Outside of our regular curation process, we may create contests for our community to participate in, and earn even more from their posts. If you have a certain theme for a future contest you would like to see, let us know! Be sure to check with us frequently on our various social media platforms to avoid missing out!

How Do We Choose The Highlighted Posts?

For those of you curious as to how you may have been chosen or would like to be chosen in the future in one of these compilations: we scan through the community and read the many posts that the community members write. We then select four or five posts that we believe meet certain criteria and are worthy of sharing with the rest of the community. We aim to keep these selections diverse in style, from writing skills or subject matter.

Hence, throughout the week, the moderators will check the community and manually handpick the posts. Some factors include the post subject, post quality, engagement, personal voice, and general effort. If we choose you, or you happen to stumble across these highlights, please do check out the other posts we feature, and contribute to their curation and engagement!
