Author: @jesuspsoto

From this author, Juan Muñoz Martín, I already read "Fray Perico y su borrico", and I remember that it is a very entertaining story, that from the beginning hooks you because of the humor and how well narrated it is, but the best thing was that at that time several of my students read it and it was a reason for conversation in the reading circle we had. For these two reasons I decided to read "The Pirate Garrapata", because Mr. Pérez-Reverte recommended it to me and because of the excellent references I have of Juan Muñoz Martín.

In today's episode I am going to introduce you to the latest novel in the Manitou series by Graham Masterton. It's relatively new (but not too much - the original was published in 2015, the Polish translation in 2019) and, after 'Manitou Armagedon/Blind Panic', almost unexpected. But even if Misquamacus has indeed been destroyed and sent back to oblivion (although you never know with him...), it turns out that this does not mean that we have finally made peace with Indian sorcerers and ghosts forever.

Hello fellow readers! It's been a while since I've stopped by with a new review. I'm having a slow reading pace and I've been absorbed by other things. But little by little I hope to get back into a good rhythm. In the meantime, today I bring you the review of the second book of the Crescent City serie: House of Heaven and Breath by author Sarah J. Maas.

Author: @borderline.babe

Would you believe that, despite her being one of the most well-known poets in history, and despite receiving a western education, I have never read a single Emily Dickinson poem? 😅 Obviously I've heard of the woman, but it was not until just recently that I acquired a book of her poems and thought, what the heck? 🤷‍♀️

Since I started my university studies I became a constant buyer of books of many genres and topics. From reference encyclopedias, educational topics, novels, poetry books, and more. My collection grew larger every day, and I was pleased to be able to leave my children an extensive legacy of wisdom.

Author: @santiago-yocoy
https://peakd.com/hive-180164/@santiago-yocoy/review-the-law-by-bastiat-resena-la-ley-de-bastiat

The Law is a text that discusses what the law is, what its current scope is, and what it should be; Bastiat gives his reasons why the law should be nothing more than the application of justice and that justice is that every person can freely use their natural faculties to live and prosper as long as they do not attack anyone else. That if the law does anything else than providing in a collective scale that which is an individual’s legitimate self-defense, the law can only become an organized and "legal" instrument of plunder, contrary to street criminals as they engage in "extra-legal" plunder of theft and fraud, but equally illegitimate as the latter.

What is Hive Book Club?

Hive Book Club is a community made by book lovers, for book lovers. A place where the chaotic minds of writers may punch away words from their keyboards as they share their writing adventures. Where passionate book collectors may rummage through their stacks of books to share and review their latest additions. Outside of our regular curation process, we may create contests for our community to participate in, and earn even more from their posts. If you have a certain theme for a future contest you would like to see, let us know! Be sure to check with us frequently on our various social media platforms to avoid missing out!

How Do We Choose The Highlighted Posts?

For those of you curious as to how you may have been chosen or would like to be chosen in the future in one of these compilations: we scan through the community and read the many posts that the community members write. We then select four or five posts that we believe meet certain criteria and are worthy of sharing with the rest of the community. We aim to keep these selections diverse in style, from writing skills or subject matter.

Hence, throughout the week, the moderators will check the community and manually handpick the posts. Some factors include the post subject, post quality, engagement, personal voice, and general effort. If we choose you, or you happen to stumble across these highlights, please do check out the other posts we feature, and contribute to their curation and engagement!

We also have a Discord server! Be sure to join it to stay up-to-date with the latest events, and communicate with our community! Hive Book Club Server
