Llevo toda una vida leyendo y curiosamente ésta es la primera vez que me animo a hacer un review de una de mis lecturas. Espero que lo disfrutes y si quieres dejarme tu opinión al respecto, estaré encantada de leer tus comentarios.

Sinopsis/ Synopsis

Raquel lleva toda la vida loca por Ares, su atractivo y misterioso vecino. Lo observa sin ser vista desde su ventana y es que, muy a su pesar, no han intercambiado ni una triste palabra. Lo que Raquel no sabe es que eso está a punto de cambiar...

Ares comenzará a cruzarse en su camino hasta en los lugares más inesperados y descubrirá que, en realidad, Raquel no es la niña inocente que creía.

Ahora, Raquel tiene muy claro su objetivo: conseguir que Ares se enamore de ella. Por supuesto, no está dispuesta a perderlo todo por el camino, y mucho menos a sí misma...

Raquel has had a lifelong crush on Ares, her attractive and mysterious neighbor. She watches him unseen from her window and, to her regret, they haven't exchanged a single sad word. What Raquel doesn't know is that this is about to change...

Ares will begin to cross her path even in the most unexpected places and she will discover that, in reality, Raquel is not the innocent girl she thought she was.

Lo confieso abiertamente cada que tengo oportunidad, llevo años evitando Wattpad. Probablemente soy un poco prejuiciosa para mis lecturas, o tal vez la reputación de las historias de la plataforma me parecía suficiente motivo para evitarla, no lo sé a ciencia cierta, pero finalmente sucedió: Leí no uno, sino dos libros de Wattpad
I openly confess it every chance I get, I've been avoiding Wattpad for years. I'm probably a bit biased for my reads, or maybe the reputation of the platform's stories seemed like enough reason for me to avoid it, I don't know for sure, but it finally happened: I read not one, but two books on Wattpad

And it all started with curiosity, I was very intrigued and impressed at the same time that so many novels written there were published by publishers and some of them even with film adaptations. it's amazing to me! Because it's not just anything to collect over 100 million reads, to get a physical publication or an adaptation. To me it means there's talent, there must be something there.
Y todo comenzó por la curiosidad, me intrigaba mucho y me impresionaba a la vez que tantas novelas escritas allí estuvieran publicadas por editoriales y algunas de ellas incluso con adaptaciones cinematográficas. ¡Se me hace increíble! Porque no es cualquier cosa reunir más de 100 millones de lecturas, conseguir publicación en físico o una adaptación. Para mí significa que hay talento, debe haber algo allí.
So I ventured out with a couple of books (I'll tell you about the other one later), and although I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book I will also leave my destructive criticism here because I firmly believe that there is no such thing as constructive criticism.
Entonces me aventuré con un par de libros (del otro ya les contaré después), y aunque me sorprendió lo mucho que disfruté este libro también dejaré por aquí mis criticas destructivas, porque creo firmemente que no existen las críticas constructivas.

Narración y trama/ Narration and plot

Desde la sinopsis rodé mis ojos porque es un cliché, es el cliché más cliché que existe, pero siempre le doy una oportunidad a cada cliché porque solo hay un aspecto que pueda transformarlos en disfrutables: La narración. Y me sorprendió lo mucho que disfruté la narración de esta autora. Ligera, divertida, casual y desenfadada. Se me hizo divertido leerlo, aunque la trama resulta tan obvia. El final es el más esperadísimo del mundo y no me sorprendió para nada, de echo hacia el final del libro estaba un poco aburrida porque ya sabía cómo terminaría.
From the synopsis I rolled my eyes because it's a cliché, it's the most cliché cliché there is, but I always give every cliché a chance because there is only one aspect that can transform them into enjoyable ones: the narration. And I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this author's narration. Light, fun, casual, and lighthearted. It was fun to read, even though the plot is so obvious. The ending is the most expected in the world and didn't surprise me at all, in fact towards the end of the book I was a little bored because I already knew how it would end.

Los protagonistas me parecieron bien construidos, con personalidades bien definidas, con pasados creíbles y emociones reales que me hicieron empatizar con ellos. Me gusta Raquel, es una chica descubriendo el mundo, su capacidad de amar, su sexualidad y nuevas formas de recuperar su dignidad cuando se deja llevar por sus emociones. Además es súper graciosa.

Ares por su parte es un odioso y engreído niño rico que no sabe qué es el amor. Durante los primeros capítulos se me hace insufrible, sin embargo, creo que es el personaje con una mayor evolución dentro de la historia.

Los personajes secundarios también tienen una construcción que me hizo enamorarme de dos de ellos. Apolo (hermano menor de Ares) y Dani (mejor amiga de Raquel) Si hay algo que me gusta de un libro es que me permita llevarme un personaje suyo por siempre en mi mente.

I found the main characters to be well constructed, with well-defined personalities, believable pasts, and real emotions that made me empathize with them. I like Raquel, she is a girl discovering the world, her capacity to love, her sexuality, and new ways to regain her dignity when she lets herself be carried away by her emotions. She is also super funny.

Ares on the other hand is an obnoxious and conceited rich kid who doesn't know what love is. During the first few chapters he becomes insufferable to me, however, I think he is the character with the most evolution within the story.

The secondary characters also have construction that made me fall in love with two of them. Apollo (Ares' younger brother) and Dani (Rachel's best friend) If there is something I like about a book is that it allows me to carry a character of his forever in my mind.

Críticas destructivas/ Destructive criticisms

Demasiadas escenas eróticas, muchísimas. No me hubiera quejado de un par, pero dejar algunas para la imaginación hubiera estado bien porque de alguna manera el libro se hace innecesariamente largo con tantos detalles explícitos.

Hacia el final el libro se torna un poco aburrido porque desde cierta perspectiva Ares y Raquel ya tienen lo que querían, ya alcanzaron su gran porqué de la historia y son muy felices y comen perdices… pero el libro no termina y sigue y sigue. Además de que sigue hacia un final extremadamente obvio

Too many erotic scenes, way too many. I wouldn't have complained about a couple, but leaving some to the imagination would have been nice because somehow the book gets unnecessarily long with so many explicit details.

Towards the end the book gets a bit boring because from a certain perspective Ares and Raquel already have what they wanted, they already reached the big why of the story and they are very happy and eat partridge... but the book doesn't end and it goes on and on. Plus it keeps going towards an extremely obvious ending.

Opinión general/ Overall opinion

Logré disfrutar el libro, aunque es para adolescentes, porque es fácil conectar con las emociones de los personajes. Tiene sus momentos tensos y de sorpresa, y también los aburridos e irrelevantes. Pero de alguna manera con su frescura al narrar, Ariana Godoy te incita continuar leyendo porque quieres saber qué es lo que pasará entre Raquel y Ares. Además de que se desarrollan otras historias de personajes secundarios que son un poco interesantes.

Si estás buscando una lectura sencilla igualmente divertida y picante, probablemente esta te gustará.

I managed to enjoy the book, even though it is for teens because it is easy to connect with the emotions of the characters. It has its tense and surprising moments and boring and irrelevant ones. But somehow with her freshness in narrating, Ariana Godoy encourages you to keep reading because you want to know what will happen between Raquel and Ares. Plus other side character stories unfold that are a bit interesting.

If you're looking for a simple read that is equally fun and spicy, you'll probably like this one.
