📚 Book Story 📚

Water for Elephants is a novel. This novel is based on the memories and feelings of 90-year-old Jacob Jankowski. In this story, he goes back to his childhood. The year was 1930. At that time, he reminisced about the days he spent in a railway circus in the United States. At that time, Jacob was a student in the zoology department. But at that time, a terrible accident happened in his life because his parents died in a road accident. He lost everything and became a vagabond. Suddenly, one day later, he got on a circus train. It was a traveling circus called Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. Then he started living with the circus team. He was given a task in the circus. There he took care of the animals. There he met none other than Marlena, who was the show's main female performer and the wife of the circus director. The director is charismatic on the one hand, but also violent and unstable in nature. At one point, Jacob and Marlena get involved in a forbidden love affair. Their forbidden love gradually becomes suspicious of Marlena's husband August. Then the events take a terrible turn. The person at the heart of this story is named Rosie. Neither Rosie is a human nor is Rosie the name of an elephant. The most valuable member of that circus. The dramatic turn in the story comes around Rosie, which is, in a word, extraordinary. It is not just a love story. Through this novel, the dark prejudices of the circus world are revealed. It is a great picture of the struggle for human honor and dignity.

📚 My Review 📚

Water for Elephants is a heartwarming novel that took me to the circus world of the 1930s. The author of this novel Sarah Gruen has very skillfully presented an extraordinary story that combines history and love. After reading this novel, I felt like I had entered this novel. The main character of this story is a young boy named Jacob Jankowski. Who loses his family and becomes a vagabond. Later, he ends up on a circus train. Later, he stays with them. Jacob's character is a very humane boy. He loves and cares for animals. So he is given the responsibility of taking care of the animals including elephants in the circus. But there he gets involved in a forbidden love affair. He gets involved in a forbidden love affair with Marlena, the wife of the circus director August, which will take you into a deep feeling.

Because of this forbidden relationship, August's violence towards them increases. The biggest surprise here is what I think is the innocent presence of a circus elephant named Rosie. Which turns the whole story around. What I liked the most is the atmosphere of the book. Apart from that, the author's narration skills were also there. We know that the circus is a symbol of joy and happiness, but the author has shown that there can be a lot of sorrow and misery behind it. What I liked the most here is that despite being an animal, the character of Rosie expresses her feelings of love, pain and revenge in a great way. There are many lessons in this novel such as Love is not easy, sometimes love demands sacrifice.

Finally, I think Water for Elephants is not just a love novel, but I think it is a hard realistic story. This novel will be liked by those who especially like emotional, humane, and realistic stories. Then anyone of you can read it. I hope you will like it a lot. Personally,,,,,I give it a rating of 4.5/5.
