[ENG-ESP] 📚🖤 Book Review: The Tearsmith 🐺🦋

Hello Hello Community! ✨, again here with a book review 🤭, the truth is that when I said that I in my reading version was a compulsive crazy, I didn't say it just for joking 🤣, the proof of this is reflected in the speed with which somehow I have decided to start and finish books lately, something I haven't done for years but I'm definitely enjoying a lot, plus I have to take advantage of my short holidays and what better way than this and watching series or movies 🤭. So today we are going to talk about this story which I got to again through tik tok, it's a book originally written in Italian and that reached such fame in its original language that it was later translated to different languages, so I won't be longer and let's go with my opinion about The Tearsmith 🐺🦋.

This is a story of love, but don't be fooled, it is also a story of pain, trauma, insecurities, abandonment and roses with thorns... with many thorns. In the Grave, the orphanage where Nica has been, stories have always been told, the most famous of which is that of an artisan who has the ability to make crystal tears, and who is responsible for the existence of all the fears and anguish that live among us. Nica has only dreamed of one thing all her life: to be adopted, and finally it seems that this dream is about to be fulfilled, however not everything is rosy, because together with her they have decided to adopt another person: Rigel, a boy with an angelic face that hides a great darkness and pain, although they have known each other all their lives, their coexistence is not exactly the best, and this will jeopardise Nica's greatest longing, especially when certain feelings towards him begin to emerge in her.

Categorised as a dark romance, this is the first published novel by author Erin Doom (being her pen name), prior to this book the author had started her writing life on the well known Wattpad platform. Honestly I'm not one to cry with books or movies/series, it's really hard for me to make that happen (unless it's the epilogue of Clockwork Princess, that's another matter 🤣), and although I didn't cry with this story, it's true that it moved me too much, it's true that it moved me too much and almost, read it well, almost made me cry with a scene in particular between Nica and Anna (her possible adoptive mother) already in the last chapters, and it's that outside the romance what captivated me personally the most of the plot, or rather it impressed me, was everything related to the life in the orphanage, it touches extremely sensitive issues of abuse and aggression, and therefore its psychological repercussions in the adolescent and adult life of our protagonist, as well as the people who were part of her childhood, it also touches the issue of child abandonment, and I must say that until now I had not had the opportunity to read something of this style, so I was delighted to have a first glimpse of something like this.

I loved how the book is written, although it is true that it is excessively long and has quite long descriptions that border a little on the unnecessary, and yet I find it a beautiful writing 💕, we have two versions which I told you in the previous review which is one of my favourite things, but the way the second version is introduced is simply perfect, it feels like a plot twist because it's done at an exact moment in the story that the author makes you see as the transcendental event that will change everything, and in a way it is, so it makes you enter a kind of time loop that allows you to get more information from the story, obviously because you start to understand the facts from another point of view, which in the end I feel is the goal of having two versions. The development of the characters can be felt and that's important, it's not enough just to notice it in the reading but also to feel it, in particular the one who has more development is Nica and I assure you that she is a completely different person at the beginning than at the end. It has its negative points obviously, the most notorious for me are the exaggerated innocence of Nica and the presence of unnecessary scenes, as I said at the beginning it is a story that can feel very long, and although I understand the reason for this, it is true that it can have a lot of filler, especially in the last chapters I could not see an end to the story, although I liked how the final chapters unfolded, I had already been loaded with so much content, that I felt a little overwhelmed 🤷🏻‍♀️.

I liked both protagonists a lot and I could empathize with both of them, I won't deny that Rigel can feel quite toxic and I don't approve of trying to justify his treatment towards Nica through his traumas, but the truth is that I didn't dislike him either, besides I feel that Nica needed someone like Rigel in her life 🤣, someone more adjusted to reality because I already told you that she felt exaggeratedly innocent, and I also think that an important element why I didn't end up hating Rigel was because of the pace of the story, and that's where I say that I understand why the plot developed the way it did, because otherwise it would have felt like a very rushed and pointless romance. The romance between Nica and Rigel is somewhat predictable, but I don't take that as a negative point because in the end the important thing is the development, and the hard and difficult events they both had to face, plus there is a good construction of the rest of the characters, Nica's friends are an addition to the story that gave me a lot of tenderness throughout the book, especially because Nica being an orphan, everything feels like the first time, in the same way that happens with her new family, especially with Anna because throughout the book we see the great bond that existed between Nica and her biological mother, so it is not surprising that the main emphasis of the relationship with the adoptive family is given precisely with the adoptive mother 💕.

¡Hola Hola Comunidad! ✨, nuevamente por aquí con la reseña de un libro 🤭, la verdad es que cuando dije que yo en mi versión lectora era una loca compulsiva, no lo dije solo por bromear 🤣, la muestra de ello se ve reflejada en la rapidez con la que de alguna forma he decidido empezar y acabar los libros últimamente, algo que no hacía desde hace años pero que definitivamente estoy disfrutando un montón, además debo aprovechar mis cortas vacaciones y qué mejor forma que ésta y viendo series o películas 🤭. Así es que el día de hoy hablaremos de ésta historia a la cual llegué de nuevo a través de tik tok, es un libro originalmente escrito en italiano y que alcanzó tal fama en su idioma original, que luego fue traducido a diferentes idiomas, así que no me alargare más y vamos con mi opinión acerca del Fabricante de Lágrimas 🐺🦋.

Ésta es una historia de amor, pero no te dejes engañar, también es una historia de dolor, traumas, inseguridades, abandono y de rosas con espinas… con muchas espinas. En el Grave, el orfanato donde ha estado Nica, siempre se han contado historias, la más famosa de ellas es la de un artesano que tiene la habilidad de fabricar lágrimas de cristal, y el cual es el responsable de la existencia de todos los miedos y angustias que viven entre nosotros. Nica sólo ha soñado con una cosa toda su vida: ser adoptada, y finalmente parece que ese sueño está por cumplirse, sin embargo no todo es color de rosas, porque junto a ella han decidido adoptar a otra persona: Rigel, un chico con cara angelical que esconde una gran oscuridad y dolor, aunque se conocen de toda la vida, su convivencia no es precisamente la mejor, y ésto pondrá en riego el mayor anhelo de Nica, sobre todo cuando en ella empiecen a aflorar ciertos sentimientos hacía él.

Catalogado como romance oscuro, ésta es la primera novela publicada de la autora Erin Doom (siendo éste su pseudónimo), antes de éste libro la autora había comenzado su vida de escritora en la ya conocida plataforma Wattpad. Honestamente yo no soy de llorar con los libros o películas/series, la verdad me cuesta bastante que eso pase (a menos que sea el epílogo de Princesa Mecánica, eso es otro tema 🤣), y aunque la verdad es que no lloré con ésta historia, sí es verdad que me conmovió demasiado y casi, léanlo bien, casi me hace llorar con una escena en concreto entre Nica y Anna (su posible madre adoptiva) ya en los últimos capítulos, y es que fuera del romance a mí personalmente lo que más me cautivó de la trama, o mejor dicho me impresionó, fue todo lo relacionado a la vida en el orfanato, se tocan temas sumamente sensibles de maltrato y agresión, y por ende sus repercuciones psicológicas en la vida adolescente y adulta de nuestra protagonista, así como de las personas que fueron parte de su infancia, además se toca el tema del abandono de niños, y he de decir que hasta ahora no había tenido la oportunidad de leer algo de éste estilo, por lo que me encantó tener un primer vistazo de algo así.

Me encantó como está escrito el libro, aunque sí es verdad que es excesivamente largo y tiene descripciones bastante largas que rayan un poco en lo innecesarias, y aún así me parece una escritura preciosa 💕, tenemos dos versiones lo cual les comenté en la reseña anterior que es de mis cosas favoritas, pero la forma en como se introduce la segunda versión es sencillamente perfecta, se siente como un giro de trama porque justamente se hace en un momento exacto de la historia que la autora te hace ver como el hecho trascendental que cambiará todo, y en cierto modo lo es, así que te hace entrar en una especie de bucle temporal que te permite obtener mas información de la historia, obviamente porque comienzas a entender los hechos desde otro punto de vista, que a fin de cuentas siento que es el objetivo de tener dos versiones. El desarrollo de los personajes se siente y eso es importante, no basta solo con notarlo en la lectura sino también de sentirlo, en particular la que mas desarrollo tiene es Nica y de verdad les aseguro que es una persona completamente distinta al inicio que al final. Tiene sus puntos negativos obviamente, los mas notorios para mí son la inocencia exagerada de Nica y la presencia de escenas innecesarias, como dije al inicio es una historia que puede llegar a sentirse muy larga, y aunque entiendo la razón de ello, sí es cierto que puede tener mucho relleno, sobre todo en los últimos capítulos me pasó que no le veía fin a la historia, pese a que me gustó como se desenvolvieron los capítulos finales, ya me habían cargado de tanto contenido, que ne sentía un poco abrumada 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Ambos protagonistas me gustaron mucho y con ambos logré empatizar, no voy a negar que Rigel puede llegar a sentirse bastante tóxico y que no apruebo que se intente justificar su trato hacía Nica por medio de sus traumas, pero la verdad es que tampoco me desagradó, aparte siento que Nica necesitaba a alguien como Rigel en su vida 🤣, alguien mas ajustado a la realidad porque ya les comenté que ella se sentía exageradamente inocente, y además creo que un elemento importante por el que no terminé odiando a Rigel fue por el ritmo de la historia, y ahí es donde digo que entiendo que la trama se desarrolle de la forma en que se hizo, porque de otra forma se habría sentido como un romance muy apresurado y sin sentido. El romance entre Nica y Rigel es un tanto predecible, pero no lo tomo como punto negativo porque al final lo importante es el desarrollo, y los hechos difíciles y duros a los que ambos tuvieron que enfrentarse, además hay una buena construcción del resto de los personajes, las amigas de Nica son un añadido a la historia que me dió mucha ternura durante todo el libro, sobre todo porque al ser Nica huérfana, todo se siente como la primera vez, de la misma forma que sucede con su nueva familia, sobre todo con Anna pues durante todo el libro se nos deja ver el gran vínculo que existía entre Nica y su madre biológica, así que no es de extrañar que el mayor enfasis de la relación con la familia adoptiva se dé justamente con la madre adoptiva 💕.
