I'm joining this community in response to the #aprilinleo challenge of the day. I'll tell you about my impressions of one of the most moving books I've ever read, "De Amor y de Sombra" by Chilean author Isabel Allende.
I read this book for the first time when I was a little girl of 14, and then I reread it as an adult when I was studying at the university. I always like to re-read books at different stages of my life, as I consider each interpretation to be unique. My interpretation may have been more mature, but just like the first time, this novel stirred my most intense emotions. It is a love story overshadowed by the social context.

Me uno a esta comunidad en respuesta al reto #aprilinleo del día. Les contaré mis impresiones sobre uno de los libros más conmovedores que he leído, "De Amor y de Sombra" de la autora chilena Isabel Allende.
Leí este libro por primera vez cuando era una niña de 14 años, y luego lo releí de adulta cuando estudiaba en la universidad. Siempre me gusta releer libros en diferentes etapas de mi vida, ya que considero que cada interpretación es única. Puede que mi interpretación haya sido más madura, pero al igual que la primera vez, esta novela despertó mis emociones más intensas. Es una historia de amor ensombrecida por el contexto social.
The book narrates the love story between two young people from different social classes, Irene and Francisco. She comes from a middle-class family, where her mother wants her to have an advantageous marriage. However, Irene, a journalist, falls in love with Francisco, a photographer, a boy from a modest immigrant family. Despite their social differences, these two young people share a sincere love and an ideal of justice.
I remember clearly how I devoured the pages of this beautiful book, feeling a shiver run down my spine as I watched this loving couple struggle to unmask the crimes and abuses committed by the Chilean government in the 1970s and 1980s. They had to choose exile to preserve their lives.
I was deeply impacted by reading this novel, where one of the most beautiful love stories is intertwined with the repression and violence that affects the characters and the society in which they live. Although the story focuses mainly on love, it also explores aspects related to hate and injustice.
El libro narra la historia de amor entre dos jóvenes de clases sociales diferentes, Irene y Francisco. Ella procede de una familia de clase media, donde su madre quiere que tenga un matrimonio ventajoso. Sin embargo, Irene, periodista, se enamora de Francisco, fotógrafo, un chico de una modesta familia de inmigrantes. A pesar de sus diferencias sociales, estos dos jóvenes comparten un amor sincero y un ideal de justicia.
Recuerdo con claridad cómo devoraba las páginas de este hermoso libro, sintiendo un escalofrío recorrer mi espina dorsal al ver a esta pareja de enamorados luchar por desenmascarar los crímenes y abusos cometidos por el gobierno chileno en los años setenta y ochenta. Tuvieron que elegir el exilio para preservar sus vidas.
Me impactó profundamente la lectura de esta novela, donde una de las más bellas historias de amor se entrelaza con la represión y la violencia que afecta a los personajes y a la sociedad en la que viven. Aunque la historia se centra principalmente en el amor, también explora aspectos relacionados con el odio y la injusticia.

Yes sister @taniagonzalez I always try to read something, reading has always been one of my favorite vices, I don't read much anymore due to lack of time, but I always turn to reading when I have a little time.
