Ustedes saben que uno de mis géneros favoritos de lectura es el dark romance, aunque en la actualidad sea uno bastante controversial y un género que se ha transformado un poco debido al fenómeno de booktok y también a las nuevas audiencias, la verdad es que disfruto mucho leerlo. El año pasado yo leí un libro del cual nunca les hablé, porque se me pasó hacerle reseña y haciendo un recuento en mi lista de lecturas, me encontré con este detalle, así que antes de qué pasé más tiempo decidí hablarles un poco de lo que fue mi lectura de Hunting Adeline del autor H.D Carlton.

Esta historia narra la vida de Adeline, una muchacha que se va a vivir a la casa de su abuela que había fallecido. Esta casa, la cual es bastante grande, está un poco sola y desde el principio ella siente una presencia que la acecha. Con el pasar de los capítulos, ella descubre que tiene un acosador, del cual ella siente bastante miedo porque ha llegado a agredir a las personas que han salido con ella. También este acosador ha dejado notas, flores y otras cosas en su casa, por lo cual ella siente bastante peligro.

This story narrates the life of Adeline, a girl who goes to live in the house of her grandmother who had passed away. This house, which is quite large, is a bit lonely and from the beginning she feels a presence that haunts her. As the chapters go by, she discovers that she has a stalker, of whom she feels quite afraid because he has come to assault people who have gone out with her. Also this stalker has left notes, flowers and other things in her house, so she feels quite dangerous.

Este libro está narrado desde las dos perspectivas, tanto de Adeline como de Zade (el acosador), el cual se enamoró perdidamente de ella y evidentemente quería que ella fuera suya. Además este libro es como si fuese un retelling del juego del gato y el ratón, o la presa y el cazador básicamente. Y obviamente quien tiene el poder acá es Zade, ya que él es quien la busca a ella y en algunas ocasiones la obliga a realizar actos que ella inicialmente no quiere, pero que terminan gustándole y es aquí cuando todo se vuelve bien cuestionable y complicado, ya que hay muchas personas que piensan que está obligación es un abuso, pero al mismo tiempo ella quererlo después así que todo sea demasiado gris y honestamente yo siento que no hay una respuesta sencilla de sí o no, más bien es algo muy ambiguo.

This book is told from both Adeline's and Zade's (the stalker) perspectives, who fell madly in love with her and evidently wanted her to be his. Also this book is like a retelling of the cat and mouse game, or the prey and the hunter basically. And obviously who has the power here is Zade, since he is the one who seeks her out and sometimes forces her to perform acts that she initially does not want, but that she ends up liking and this is when everything becomes very questionable and complicated, as there are many people who think that this obligation is an abuse, but at the same time she wants it so everything is too gray and honestly I feel that there is no simple answer yes or no, rather it is something very ambiguous.

Al mismo tiempo en este libro tenemos una historia paralela, ya que al estar en casa de su abuela descubre un diario donde su abuela anotó toda su vida, descubriendo que quizás alguien la había asesinado y también que sobre él estaba involucrada en una relación un poco complicado y debe leer el diario para poder entender que era lo que pasaba y descubrir ese misterio. Por otro lado, Zade era como una especie de agente encubierto que luchaba para alejar a las niñas de los peligros también como no recuerdo si era algo con narcotraficantes o asesinar personas peligrosas, pero este personaje a pesar de qué estaba obligando a adelante a que estuviera con él, también hacía cosas buenas por la sociedad y eso hacía que Adela también cuestionará mucho sus pensamientos.

At the same time in this book we have a parallel story, because when she is at her grandmother's house she discovers a diary where her grandmother wrote down all her life, discovering that maybe someone had murdered her and also that she was involved in a complicated relationship and she has to read the diary to understand what was going on and discover that mystery. On the other hand, Zade was like a kind of undercover agent who fought to keep the girls away from dangers also as I don't remember if it was something with drug dealers or murdering dangerous people, but this character even though he was forcing her to be with him, he also did good things for the society and that made Adela also question his thoughts a lot.

Ciertamente, esta historia está llena de momentos sexuales que tiene un pilar importante en el desarrollo de la misma, siente que son los momentos en donde las protagonistas más envuelven en su relación y cuando tú notas que a pesar de lo complicado del asunto si llegan a desarrollar sentimientos reales entre ellos. Además, al final es un poco impredecible y deja con preguntas. A pesar de que hay una parte dos, yo no la he leído y muchas personas no recomiendan leerla porque, aparte de que te hace llorar porque Adela sufre bastante, dicen que no tiene sentido esa historia, así que yo la dejé hasta acá. Particularmente siento que es una historia que me gustó, no siento que sea la mejor del mundo, pero sí es el Dark Romance más oscuro que yo he leído hasta los momentos. No puedo recomendarla ampliamente porque ya depende del criterio de cada persona, pero sí les voy a decir que es una historia que a mí me gustó. Espero que les haya encantado conocer mis opiniones acerca de este tema tan controversial, nos leemos pronto!

Also, the ending is a bit unpredictable and leaves you with questions. Although there is a part two, I haven't read it and many people don't recommend reading it because, apart from the fact that it makes you cry because Adela suffers a lot, they say it doesn't make sense, so I left it until here. I particularly feel that it is a story that I liked, I don't feel it is the best in the world, but it is the darkest Dark Romance I have read so far. I can't recommend it widely because it depends on each person's criteria, but I will tell you that it is a story that I liked.
