Disgraceful!
Not surprising, though.
Totalitarian regimes can handle corrupt people, they actually need them. Journalism is way more dangerous for them than crime itself. They can profit from crime and criminals, not from honesty and truth.
Here in Venezuela, we have thousands of political prisoners, many of which are not even politicians (they range from students who were arrested during protests to doctors who spoke about poor conditions of our hospitals, to average people who posted something on social media deemed offensive by the maduro regime). They have not have a trial and yet they are rotting in hell. In the meantime, minister of prisons, iris varela, releases all kinds of criminals. These criminals are hired by the same government and used to repress and intimidate anyone who dares to protest.
That's the style of socialism we have.
