Hi guys, today I want to make a food that is everyone's favorite, namely PERFECT GADUNG PORRIDGE. You need to know that in the culinary world, porridge is a type of food that is usually cooked by boiling ingredients until they become very soft. To give flavor to the porridge, coconut milk or grated coconut can be added, and the thickness can be adjusted to taste. So, one of the menus that I will cook today can be an alternative for those of you who don't have an appetite for rice or are on a diet without rice. Even this menu is very suitable for mothers whose children are GTM or don't like rice.

Many people don't know about gadung tubers. Gadung tubers do not contain gluten and are rich in starch so they are very promising as a food source for individuals to reduce the risk of obesity, diabetes, gluten allergies and celiac disease. Gadung fruit is a type of tuber that has a much higher fiber, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine (B1) and vitamin E content compared to other tubers such as potatoes, cassava and sweet potatoes. In addition, gadung is also widely used in the pharmaceutical industry. Likewise, sticky rice has lower fiber than rice, so it is highly recommended for those of you who are on a diet without rice.

In addition, porridge is one of the foods that is easy to digest because its consistency is soft so it can be served and given to people who are sick or have digestive problems. So this porridge is the best choice for you to try. Now here I explain how to cook it:

Ingredients needed:

  • 300 grams of gadung fruit
  • 5 tablespoons of glutinous rice
  • 1 coconut (for coconut milk)
  • 150 grams of granulated sugar
  • 1 pandan leaf
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 250 ml of water

How to make:

First: peel and wash the gadung fruit. Cut the gadung fruit into small pieces in the shape of cubes. Then wash the gadung fruit again to remove the sap/mucus from the gadung fruit.

Second: wash the glutinous rice. Add 250 ml of water to boil. Boil the glutinous rice with the gadung fruit for 15 minutes. Boil over medium heat so that the boiling water does not overflow

Third: if you feel the glutinous rice is cooked and fluffy and the texture of the gadung fruit is soft, then add the coconut milk and pandan leaves (pandan leaves can be added at the beginning of boiling so that the aroma of the pandan leaves is stronger). Let the coconut milk boil. After that, add granulated sugar (the amount of granulated sugar can be adjusted to the desired level of sweetness) and salt until it boils again and this beautiful gadung fruit porridge is ready to be served.

Well, that was how to make the perfect gadung porridge because besides being easy to cook, this porridge is healthy and rich in health benefits for the body, especially for people who are sick. You can adjust the thickness and texture of the porridge according to your taste. This porridge is highly recommended for those of you who are on a diet and for people who cannot consume gluten because gadung fruit does not contain gluten. In fact, this porridge can be one of the selling menus with high selling value.

Thank You 😊🩷

It's the first time o see this fruit, here in my country we don't usually eat porridge but looks so good, and yours with the purple colour it's amazing 😍😍

Thank you. In addition to the taste, the color of this porridge is what makes it really interesting and tempting.

Yes, it is natural, because maybe in your area there is no gadung tuber. However, try making porridge with other tuber ingredients that are available in your area, it will definitely taste no less delicious and tasty than this porridge.
