Beet shopping in Merida

Hello Hive community!!! happy weekend ❤️ how are you enjoying your weekend? Around here we went shopping early but the electrical issue has us baffled about everything. I haven't been shopping since last year, a lot of things have happened and I stopped doing a lot, but little by little I am resuming my activities.

Today I went with Santi and my husband to buy vegetables for the week. For him there is always something new, but this day there were two: beets and carrots that you will see tomorrow.

This time we went we saw a lot of big size and very fresh beets. They were very nice 💞 normally there are not so many and sometimes they are left forgotten.

Today we decided to look for some to make beet powder to make lipsticks (I know, you would think for eating, possibly look for a recipe soon) but since the main purpose was not that, the beets had to be big to slice and dehydrate them.

Santiago wants everything baby size, he thinks it's cute and wants to take care of it, so from the mountain of beets he grabbed a "baby beet" with a carrot and put it in a bag. I picked a few more and we bought them.

To select the beets for the makeup I take great care: size, freshness, that it doesn't look battered. Almost the same care for eating, only the size varies.

Already at home we wash them to let them dry and process them tomorrow when we have light.

Obviously his beets will be to prepare him something and that he participates, because otherwise he will cry 🥹 and as we do not want that as we will do the task, because he does not like it in salad which is my favorite way.

That was our adventure today, I will share with you tomorrow the story of the carrot 🥕...Really with Santiago everything is a novelty.
