Pumpkins are so plentiful in our area that sometimes we don't even need to buy them because they are often gifted by neighbors. Including today the pumpkin was gifted by my neighbor and I plan to process it into one of the delicious dishes.
It has a sweet taste with a creamy texture from the coconut milk and most importantly natural savory from the combination of palm sugar and coconut milk. It feels great to be able to prepare one of the recipes that is indeed our family's favorite food during certain events at home. We usually prepare this dish as one of the desserts at home when the extended family gets together. Or even my mom makes this dish as a delicious meal to take to the rice fields.
Pumpkin Porridge Coconut Milk Aren Sugar
Pumpkin porridge is one of the processed pumpkin dishes which is then cooked with coconut milk. Here, the sweetener uses palm sugar and also a little sugar. To create aromatics, I always add pandan leaves as a natural fragrance in porridge processed from coconut milk. So here's the step-by-step preparation in making it!.
Materials Used
500 ml thick coconut milk
50 grams palm sugar
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
2 pandan leaves
Preparation Procedure
Peel the skin of the pumpkin, and then cut the pumpkin into pieces.
Next, add coconut milk in a saucepan and start cooking the coconut milk until hot. Then add the pumpkin pieces and pandan leaves that have been ci until clean.
Add sugar and salt to the pot, then stir until evenly distributed.
Cook while stirring occasionally to make sure the pumpkin is still not soft, add palm sugar, can be cut into small pieces.
Cook until the coconut milk boils and make sure the pumpkin is tender, remove from heat and serve warm.
Presentation
The Pumpkin Porridge is ready to be served in your favorite bowl, topped with pandan leaves, and I added some pumpkin pieces to the bowl. Now this dish itself can be enjoyed for 2 adult portions. And if you want more, you can multiply the portion according to your wishes.
It's very simple and easy to prepare, and I think it's a simple porridge that has a delicious flavor and can be enjoyed in any condition. Sweet, savory, with the right texture of pumpkin that is very soft with the right maturity. I suggest you don't cook the pumpkin too mushy, just make sure the coconut milk starts to warm up and then add the pumpkin to get the best texture.
